Database Administrator is responsible for managing Database across various technologies. He needs to assess database performance, develop performance metrics, coordinate project activities with other team members, develop detailed project plans. He is responsible for sizing Database servers based on the requirement, providing database related support for capacity & performance management, change & incident management, planning & upgrading end of life & end of support database products, adhere to defined compliance & security measures, identify query, which is impacting database performance, ensure that database management systems can handle massive quantities of data.

Database Administrator - Effectively manage Database to maximize uptime
- Managing Database technology towards maximizing uptime of Database infrastructure.
- Is responsible for availability of Database Infrastructure
- Analyze queries & identify the one which is impacting database performance
- Ensure that database management systems (DBMS) can handle massive quantities of data
- Assess & ensure ultimate database performance
- Capacity planning to ensure future business requirements are met
- Interact with Business for IT Infra requirement
- Keep updated with latest technologies.
- Coordinate with Shared Services
IT security adherence & Audit- Manage the Information Security & Audit processes effectively to ensure data security & act on audit findings
- Implementing best information security practices & tools for Database hosted on-premises or public clouds.
- Ensure security compliance
- Make sure no repeat & high risk audit issues
- Ensure points highlighted in vulnerability assessment are closed
Vendor Management-Effectively manage vendors to get the desired output from them
- Manage vendors and external suppliers to deliver the required project quality within defined cost & timeframes.
- Monitor & manage performance of vendors as per the performance metrics defined
Stakeholder Management – Cultivate and Maintain long term team-oriented relationships with internal stakeholders
- Build relationships with other teams to establish effective dialogue between departments
- Build proactively and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders to achieve mutual goals
- Keep stakeholders informed on aspects relevant to them
- Seek inputs/feedback/insights from stakeholders
