Position Summary The Data Engineer India Operations will deliver operational excellence for our solutions built on AWS cloud data platforms which will serve to connect data across our enterprise. This role will work in a team of high performing Data Engineers, and will report to Data Operations Manager, India Operations and partner with Americas Operations, of Solution Engineers, Product Owners, to build, enhance and maintain a Data Solutions across Cloud applications. This individual must have deep technical acumen in cloud environments as well as Agile practices.

Understanding how to efficiently leverage cloud resources to provide optimal value will also be critically important.

Job Duties

- Work as a high performing Data Engineer to effectively operationalize data solutions being built in AWS cloud platforms (Central data Platform)
- Must be able to work independently and as a team player and be open to learning changing scope of technical tools as and when needed to deliver solutions.
- Actively collaborates and coordinates priorities with their management colleagues and the Americas Operations team.
- Must be involved in early Design reviews/ testing to drive a robust solution and look for continuous improvements where possible.
- Coordinate with various vendors like AWS, SAP etc. when there are product bugs and get them fixed.
- Actively drives continuous improvement/automation activities and solicits recommendations from other team members to ensure the right solutions are implemented at the right time.
- Design and build complex industrialized data pipeline processes to be used across the enterprise.
- Works across domains to ensure alignment with Platform team, SAP functional and technical teams, basis teams, data security, governance, and quality controls.




- Adapts precedent and may holistically change standard operating procedures to develop new solutions.
- Participates in architectural strategies for data modelling, design, and implementation within the responsible data domains.
- Serves as a domain expert and go-to SME (subject matter expert) for all things data related.
- Daily job Schedules monitoring, working with other cloud teams to resolve operational issues to ensure proper data refresh.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with IT development and/or operations domains with 3 years of cloud development / operations in AWS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex concepts and technologies to diverse audiences.
- Excellent attitude with Teamwork, Commitment and Accountability
- Operational experience with solutions built on cloud-based data platforms and managed services, data lakes, data warehousing, analytics tools, data visualization, and machine learning capabilities.
- Have a working knowledge of various data ingestions tools like SAP CPI/ SLT/PO, SAP BW and Teradata that interact with either cloud-based architecture or On Prem Data Bases
- Working knowledge of data governance concepts, tools and processes supporting a complex organizational setting.




- Thorough understanding of Data base concepts in order to build and maintain robust architecture that is highly available, operationally scalable and fault tolerant systems.
- Must have working knowledge of common data engineering technologies like Apache Spark, Python, SQL, etc.
- Experience with State machines/Step Functions for building and maintaining complex Orchestrations in AWS
- Ability to perform end to end testing and debug issues within various AWS Services
- Document root cause analysis and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to standardize and stabilize daily operations.
- Must have working knowledge of Git/ADO (Azure Dev Ops) process to promote code/release packages into upstream environments.
- Practical experience with Agile practices
- Experience collaborating with technical product teams including offshore resources and working in matrixed environments.
- Excellent skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and observability.
- Experience in AWS Redshift, Glue, Aurora, Athena and Kinesis

Preferred Qualifications

- Proficiency with cloud data technologies such as Databricks, DynamoDB, Azure Data Factory, SQL, Synapse, etc.…
- Experience with Service Oriented and Event Driven Architectures (SOA, EDA)
- Preferred to have any Cloud based certifications.
- Exposure to other cloud data platforms like Azure or GCP
- 2+ years of Lean / Agile project delivery experience.
- Experience or basic knowledge of Identity and Access Management.

Working Hours

- Aligned to Bridgestone (West) Nashville Head Office business hours overlap at least until 12PM Central Time Zone
