About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Expert to join our dynamic team on an hourly contract basis. This role is designed for professionals with a strong background in security engineering, incident response, and cybersecurity governance who are interested in contributing to advanced AI research and evaluation projects. As a Cybersecurity Expert at Synthires, you will play a pivotal role in developing realistic enterprise cybersecurity scenarios, creating reference outputs, and building evaluation frameworks that mirror real-world security operations.

Your expertise will directly impact the development of innovative tools and methodologies that enhance cybersecurity posture and resilience across diverse organizational contexts.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over five years of relevant experience in cybersecurity roles such as Security Engineer, CISO,



Security Lead, or similar positions. You should have a proven track record of managing incident response, security architecture, or compliance initiatives, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of security operations, threat landscapes, and risk management. Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as NIST CSF, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or EU NIS2 is essential.

Strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, and excellent written communication abilities are also required to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

- Develop comprehensive cybersecurity scenarios encompassing Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring, incident response, digital forensics, vulnerability management, and security architecture design.
- Create detailed tasks and exercises focused on threat detection, penetration testing, security engineering, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) processes.
- Design and implement scenarios using industry-standard tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Tenable, Qualys, and enterprise GRC platforms.
- Apply threat modeling, incident response, and risk assessment methodologies to ensure realistic and challenging scenarios.
- Produce high-quality reference incident reports,



security assessments, architecture diagrams, and compliance documentation that reflect best practices and real-world conditions.
- Develop evaluation rubrics that effectively differentiate authentic enterprise security judgment from generic or textbook knowledge, ensuring meaningful assessments of cybersecurity expertise.
