Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Crewing Officer role based in Mumbai.
The Crewing
Officer will coordinate and manage crew changes, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, and documentation for seafarers, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The role involves maintaining up-to-date crew records, monitoring certification validity, and liaising with authorities, shipowners, and agencies to arrange travel, visas, and other logistics.
The Crewing
Officer will collaborate closely with operations and ship management teams to ensure vessels are adequately manned with qualified personnel in line with deployment plans. Additionally, the role includes addressing crew-related queries, supporting welfare initiatives, and contributing to continuous improvement of crewing processes and systems.
Qualifications
- 2–3+ years of relevant maritime experience
- Experience handling and sourcing Indian COC holders will be an added advantage
- Strong crewing skills, including planning deployments, handling crew changes, and maintaining accurate crew records.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with seafarers, internal teams, shipowners, and external agencies.
- Knowledge of operations management in a maritime environment, including scheduling, logistics, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of ship management practices and maritime regulations relevant to crewing and vessel operations.
- Relevant experience in crewing or marine HR, preferably within a ship management or shipping company.
- Familiarity with crewing software or HR information systems and proficiency in MS Office applications.
