As a Credit Risk Reporting Analyst you will have an opportunity to join Risk Information Services (RIS) team providing Management Information for UK cards & Barclays Wealth business, with particular focus on Private Bank.
The candidate will be required to support the existing MI deliveries as well as support ad hoc risk analysis tasks whilst adhering to Barclays Change Management Process and additional reporting standards such as BCBS239.The role requires attention to detail, an appreciation for good documentation and good analytical skills if needed to support any possible questions.
What will you be doing?
The main areas of accountability are:
- Work closely with Portfolio Risk Reporting, IT Tech teams and other stakeholders to understand the risk reporting requirements, taking into consideration existing data limitations and constraints.
- Build new and update existing risk reporting processes utilizing primarily MSSQL& SAS code to handle data according to agreed risk data requirements.
- Ensure the changes made to the SAS & MSSQL codes are tested and where needed signed off.
- Work to agreed prioritization of changes.
- Document changes and save evidence of testing to adhere to appropriate change control processes.
- Assist in the production of ad-hoc requests for management information.
- Identify and understand data sources and reconcile them where technically possible.
- Dynamic thinking and management of large volumes of data to assist in potential other Portfolio reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Have a valuable appreciation of data structures.
- Understand the importance of high quality documentation adhering to processes to support alignment to policies and principles such as BCBS239 and Data Management Standard.
- Pull on existing analytical skills or willingness to learn analytics to support portfolio management with investigations in to trends of data etc.
- Help support strategic change across the bank by closely working with RFT Tech and Business Analysts to generate a strategic platform.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated data analysis exposure; previous involvement in Risk Reporting/Analytics roles.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel.
- Preferred programming skills - SQL, SAS and VBA.
- Preference for a good knowledge of the banking and finance sector.
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Preference for a Degree in a quantitative area of study and a solid understanding of computer systems
