Position: Consultant Spine Surgeon
Department: Spine Surgery

About the Role
Naruvi Hospitals is seeking a skilled and experienced Consultant Spine Surgeon to join our Spine Surgery Department. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive evaluation, surgical and non-surgical management of patients with spinal disorders and injuries. The consultant will work closely with neurosurgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists, radiologists, physiotherapists, pain specialists, and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a broad range of spinal disorders in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings.
- Assess and treat conditions including:
- Degenerative spine diseases and spondylosis
- Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar disc prolapse
- Spinal stenosis and radiculopathy
- Cervical and lumbar myelopathy
- Spinal deformities, including scoliosis and kyphosis
- Spinal trauma and fractures
- Spinal cord and nerve-root compression
- Spinal infections, including tuberculosis and pyogenic infections
- Spinal tumours and metastatic lesions
- Osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures
- Spondylolisthesis and other spinal instability disorder
Qualifications
- MS/DNB in Orthopaedics with appropriate fellowship or advanced training in Spine Surgery, as applicable.
Valid Medical Council registration.
- Alternatively, Fellowship/advanced training in Spine Surgery or minimally invasive spine surgery will be an advantage.
Experience
Minimum: 1 year
Maximum: 5 years
- Experience in managing degenerative spine conditions, spinal trauma, deformities, and complex spinal disorders is preferred.
- Experience in spinal instrumentation, decompression procedures, and minimally invasive spine surgery will be an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong clinical and surgical expertise in the assessment and management of spinal disorders.
- Proficiency in interpreting spinal imaging, particularly MRI and CT.
- Competence in performing appropriate spine surgical procedures and perioperative management.
- Excellent clinical decision-making, surgical judgement, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, patient counselling, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Commitment to evidence-based medicine, patient safety, ethical surgical practice, and continuous professional development.
Work Schedule
Shift Pattern: Rotational shifts
Working Hours: 9 hours per day
Working Days: 6 days per week
Participation in emergency, trauma, and on-call duties as per departmental roster.
Pay: ₹1,800,000.00 - ₹2,400,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
