MD Pathology – Job Responsibilities

Designation: MD Pathology / Consultant Pathologist

Department: Pathology

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct and report hematology, biochemistry, clinical pathology, cytology, histopathology, and microbiology investigations as applicable.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable laboratory reports.
- Review and validate abnormal/critical laboratory results before report release.
- Perform and supervise FNAC, biopsy, cytology, and histopathology procedures.
- Maintain proper quality control and quality assurance in the laboratory.
- Ensure compliance with NABL/NABH standards, hospital policies, and statutory requirements.
- Supervise laboratory technicians and ensure proper workflow and discipline.
- Ensure proper sample collection, labeling, processing, storage, and disposal.
- Communicate critical or significant findings promptly to the concerned treating doctor.




- Monitor laboratory equipment, reagents, consumables, and calibration requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation, records, and confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in clinical meetings, audits, infection control, and quality improvement activities.
- Train and guide laboratory staff regarding procedures, safety, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with clinicians and other departments for appropriate investigations and interpretation of results.
- Ensure compliance with biosafety, biomedical waste management, and infection-control protocols.
- Support the hospital in developing and implementing laboratory SOPs, KPIs, and quality indicators.

Pay: ₹2.00 - ₹2.50 per month
