Looking for construction manager who are having experienced in managing site, client, contractor, local issues and able to complete the project within the stipulated time frame.

Responsibilities The Construction Manager – Civil will be responsible for overall planning, supervision, coordination and execution of civil and structural works at the project site, ensuring completion within the approved time, cost, quality and safety parameters .

The person shall coordinate closely with the Project Management Team, Engineering/Design Team, contractors, consultants, vendors and client representatives to ensure smooth and timely execution of the project.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Civil Construction & Site Execution

- Plan, supervise and control all civil construction activities at the project site.
- Execute earthwork, excavation, filling, grading, PCC, RCC, foundations, flooring, roads, drains, retaining walls, boundary walls, buildings and other civil works .
- Supervise construction of equipment foundations, machinery foundations, structural foundations and utility areas.
- Ensure construction is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
- Monitor day-to-day progress against the approved construction schedule.
- Identify site constraints and take timely corrective action to avoid delays.

B. Structural & Building Works
- Supervise structural steel, PEB/building works and associated civil works.
- Coordinate with structural and architectural teams for execution of drawings.
- Check reinforcement, shuttering, embedments, anchor bolts and concreting before casting.
- Ensure proper alignment, levels, dimensions and positioning of foundations and structures.

C. Contractor Management
- Manage and supervise civil contractors and subcontractors.
- Allocate work fronts and monitor manpower, machinery and material deployment.
- Verify contractor measurements and work quantities.
- Review contractor work programmes and recovery plans.
- Ensure contractors achieve planned daily/weekly/monthly targets.
- Coordinate with procurement and vendors for timely availability of construction materials.

D. Quality Control
- Ensure civil works comply with approved drawings, BOQ, specifications and applicable standards .
- Coordinate with QA/QC personnel for inspection and testing.
- Ensure proper quality of concrete, reinforcement, earthwork, waterproofing, flooring and finishing works.
- Monitor cube testing, soil compaction, material testing and other required quality checks.
- Ensure rectification of defects and non-conformities.

E. Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Prepare and monitor detailed day-wise, week-wise and monthly construction plans .
- Track planned vs. actual progress.
- Identify critical activities and bottlenecks.
- Prepare recovery plans wherever progress is behind schedule.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Project Head.
- Maintain daily construction records, photographs and activity reports.

F. Engineering & Drawing Coordination
- Coordinate with engineering/design teams for timely availability of AFC/approved drawings.
- Review drawings from an execution perspective and identify discrepancies before commencement of work.




- Raise RFIs/TQs for technical clarifications wherever required.
- Ensure latest approved drawings are available at the work front.
- Coordinate civil requirements with mechanical, electrical, piping and process teams to avoid interface issues.

G. Quantity & Cost Control
- Monitor quantities executed against approved BOQ.
- Check contractor bills and measurements.
- Identify variations and additional works and obtain necessary approvals.
- Control wastage of cement, steel, aggregates and other construction materials.
- Support project team in maintaining civil construction costs within approved budget.

H. Safety & EHS
- Ensure strict compliance with project HSE/EHS procedures .
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and site safety inspections.
- Ensure proper PPE, barricading, work permits and safe working practices.
- Ensure safe execution of excavation, lifting, scaffolding, concreting and structural activities.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents and near misses.

I. Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with Client, PMC, consultants, contractors and statutory authorities as required.
- Conduct daily/weekly coordination meetings with contractors.
- Resolve site-level technical and execution issues.
- Coordinate civil works with mechanical equipment installation and other disciplines.
- Ensure construction activities do not adversely affect commissioning schedules.

1. Mandatory Site Documentation

The Construction Manager shall ensure proper maintenance of:
- Daily Progress Report (DPR)
- Manpower deployment report
- Equipment/machinery deployment report
- Concrete pouring records
- Cube test reports
- Reinforcement inspection records
- Material receipt and consumption records
- Contractor measurement sheets
- RFI / inspection requests
- Site instructions
- Work completion records
- As-built drawings
- Site photographs
- Weekly and monthly progress reports
- Delay/constraint register
- Material reconciliation

1. Desired Qualification & Experience

Qualification:

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.

Experience:

- 10–15 years of relevant experience in civil construction.
- Experience in industrial projects, waste management plants, CBG/biogas/biofuel plants, infrastructure projects or process plants will be preferred.
- Strong experience in RCC foundations, industrial buildings, roads, drainage, earthwork and structural works.
- Experience in handling civil contractors and multiple construction activities simultaneously.

1. Technical Skills

The candidate should have good knowledge of:
- RCC and structural construction
- Foundation and industrial civil works
- Earthwork and soil compaction
- Concrete technology
- Quantity estimation and BOQ
- Construction planning and scheduling
- AutoCAD/drawing reading
- MS Excel and MS Project/Primavera




- QA/QC procedures
- IS Codes and applicable construction standards
- Contractor billing and measurement
- Site safety and EHS requirements

The Construction Manager – Civil will be evaluated primarily on:
