Roles &
Responsibilities – Competition Coding Mentor
- Mentor and train students for robotics competitions such as FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), World Robot Olympiad (WRO), and other national and international competitions.
- Plan and execute a structured competition training curriculum based on the annual game manual and season requirements.
- Guide students in robot design and programming, electronics integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Support students in developing autonomous and driver-controlled robot programs using the appropriate programming languages and development environments.
- Mentor students in engineering design processes, strategic thinking, game analysis, and problem-solving.
- Conduct regular practice sessions, mock competitions, and performance evaluations to improve team readiness.
- Assist students in preparing engineering notebooks, technical documentation, presentations, and judging materials required for competitions.
- Ensure all robot designs, code, and documentation are student-driven while providing appropriate technical guidance.
- Coordinate with mechanical and CAD mentors to ensure effective collaboration within the team.
- Maintain competition robots, tools, electronics, batteries, spare parts, and inventory in proper working condition.
- Research new technologies, robotics components, and competition updates to enhance team performance.
- Travel with students to regional, national, and international competitions,
ensuring smooth execution of all competition activities.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions for students, coaches, and teachers whenever required.
- Develop weekly training plans and maintain daily work logs, student progress reports, and competition milestones.
- Monitor individual student performance and prepare action plans for skill improvement.
- Support procurement by identifying technical requirements, preparing parts lists, and recommending suitable components for purchase.
- Ensure all safety standards and laboratory protocols are followed during robot construction, testing, and competition preparation.
- Assist in organizing robotics events, outreach programs, demonstrations, exhibitions, and promotional activities conducted by RFL.
- Stay updated with new programming languages, robotics platforms, AI technologies, and competition rule changes, and complete assigned technical learning within the specified timelines.
- Work closely with the Competition Head and Technical Head to achieve departmental goals and deliver successful competition outcomes.
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, discipline, and adherence to RFL's policies, values, and code of conduct always.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
