About The Job:

- The role will be involved in support of highly critical production environment and will be engaged in architecture, design and deployment of midrange systems along with a team of technically competent professionals.

- Understanding and Performing tasks related to Implementation, Design installation and configuration of all Database products.

- Coordinate and manage multiple problems and projects with different teams at the same time

- Analyze all aspects of the existing infrastructure and recommend modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability

- Work with teammates, clients and other teams to identify and address systems problems

- Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

- Knowledge on the AWS/GCP infrastructure

- Demonstrate ownership and responsibility in all assignments

- Enough expertise to identify and recommend changes/improvements to the process and infrastructure design.

- Candidate must have the ability to create business cases and present the architecture and design that they create

- Demonstrated experience in leading projects, implementation teams and clients in Database configuration and assessment services, requirements gathering, storage implementations, data migration and application testing

- Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently

- Ability to participate and contribute during crisis times, assist team members/leads/customer/HCL Senior management, as needed

- Show adaptability and flexibility in work to suit business requirements

- Work on assignments to architect, design and implement the customer specific Database technology services

- Work with Database Consulting and Delivery colleagues to position and deliver the Database products (MySQL, Postgres, Aurora) and services to maximize customer’s success in the most effective and efficient way

Essential Job Functions:

- Provide technology consulting to platform or Internal project teams on the respective product as per the technologies specified standards

- Maintain knowledge of leading-edge technologies and industry/market domain knowledge.





- Apply advance subject matter knowledge and build technical directions for proper design and implementations.

- Work with 3rd Party suppliers to implement best practices.

- Understand business requirement, providing technical support / leadership in the creation and delivery of technology solutions to meet business needs

- Evaluate and embed new capability/technology with Capability Requirement from Capability team by capturing use cases and requirements

- Perform POC Evaluation and implementation as part of Capability Embedding for the requests from Business.

- Identify Technical Risks across infra estate, develop plans for Risk mitigations, work with BAU and Change teams to implement the mitigation

- Prepare forward schedule annual plan for implementing Baseline Management, Minor and Major upgrades by aligning with the forward scheduled planned activities.

- Participate and provide Inputs for Enterprise IT Transformation projects.

- Implement Infosec security compliance as per the guidelines by working with BAU and Change teams.

- Provide Break glass support for Operations team on escalated 4th level support for issues/incidents.

- Proof of Concept report for new technologies aligning with IT roadmap

- Lifecyle management of software and hardware as per the defined SBB

- Automation report initiatives and implementation

- Capacity reports for Environment optimization and recommendations

- Regular review and updates/report of Build Guides, Runbooks, SOPs and Vendor advisories

- Risk Management Mitigations and implementation proposal plans.

Qualifications

- EXP- 9-12 years

Technical / professional qualifications

- MySQL

- Strong proficiency in MySQL database management

- Decent experience with recent versions of MySQL

- Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM

- Experience with replication configuration in MySQL

- Database-as-a-Service solutions

- MySQL / Postgres Engineered Systems

- Provision MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations

- Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases

- Prepare documentations and specifications

- Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL

- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements

- Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler





- Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications

- Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc. {{if required}}

- Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases

- PostgreSQL

- Install and configure new PostgreSQL both adhoc and via automation where needed.

- Designing and implementation of PostgreSQL replication using Master-Master, Master-Slave to support distributed loads (slony, bucardo, PGCluster, pgpool)

- Troubleshoot PostgreSQL service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends

- Performance tuning, Query Optimization and Performance monitoring using tool such as but not limited to PGAdmin, PGBagger.

- Identify and configure PostgreSQL monitoring utilities/tools.

- Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.

- Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary

- Recommending Database Security Policy, Auditing

- Awareness of latest database trends and Technologies

- Knowledge in Cloud Integration

- Deep knowledge of Opensource technologies.

- Must have a knowledge of anyone scripting language: PowerShell/ Python / UNIX Shell scripting
