About the Role The Chief Sales Officer is a member of the senior executive leadership team, accountable for the company's revenue strategy and commercial performance across OEM, Aftermarket, Industrial, and Export segments. The CSO translates corporate strategy into a coherent, multi-year go-to-market plan, builds a high-performing global sales organization, and serves as the principal architect of profitable, sustainable growth. The role carries full P&L; accountability for the sales function and acts as a key advisor to the CEO and Board on market strategy, competitive positioning, and revenue risk.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Mandate
- Own and evolve the company's enterprise-wide sales strategy, aligning commercial priorities with corporate growth and profitability objectives.
- Set multi-year revenue, margin, and market-share targets in partnership with the CEO and Board, and translate these into actionable annual operating plans.
- Identify and prioritize new geographies, segments, and channels (automotive, industrial, agriculture, railway, heavy equipment) for expansion.
- Shape go-to-market strategy for new product launches in close partnership with Product Management and Marketing.
- Evaluate inorganic growth opportunities — acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances — that strengthen market position.
- Revenue & Commercial Leadership
- Deliver annual revenue, gross margin, and EBITDA contribution targets across all business segments.
- Provide end-to-end leadership of OEM, Aftermarket, Industrial, Export, and Key Account sales functions.
- Expand and professionalize the dealer, distributor, and channel partner network.
- Build and govern pricing strategy to protect and grow margin while remaining competitive.
- Institutionalize rigorous sales forecasting, pipeline management,
and CRM-driven analytics.
- Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Personally own relationships with the company's most strategic OEM and global accounts.
- Lead negotiation of high-value, long-term commercial agreements.
- Serve as a visible, senior representative of the company at industry forums, exhibitions, and customer engagements.
- Act as escalation point for critical customer issues, balancing commercial outcomes with long-term relationship health.
- Organizational & People Leadership
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing leadership bench across regional and functional sales heads.
- Define a clear KPI and performance management framework that drives accountability at every level of the sales organization.
- Lead succession planning and capability development to ensure organizational continuity.
- Foster a culture of ownership, integrity, and customer-centricity across the commercial organization.
- Cross-Functional & Governance Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and Product Management to align demand with operational capability.
- Ensure voice-of-customer insight is systematically channeled into product development and innovation roadmaps.
- Manage commercial risk, sales budgets, and compliance with company policy and ethical business standards.
- Provide accurate, timely business reviews and reporting to the CEO and Board.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automobile, or Industrial preferred).
- MBA in Marketing, Sales, or General Management strongly preferred.
Required Skills
- 20+ years of progressive sales and commercial leadership experience, including 8–10+ years in a senior executive role (CSO, VP Sales, or equivalent).
- Deep domain experience in automotive components, industrial products, or precision engineering manufacturing.
- Demonstrated record of multi-segment sales organizations to sustained, profitable growth.
- Hands-on experience across OEM, Aftermarket, and Export businesses is essential.
- Prior exposure to board-level reporting and executive decision-making strongly preferred.

- OEM sales processes, aftermarket distribution, and export business operations.
- CRM platforms (Salesforce, SAP CRM, Microsoft Dynamics) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Advanced Excel, Power BI, and sales analytics tools.
Pay range and compensation package 70-90 Lacs pa
