Role Summary
We are looking for a Chief of Staff to serve as a strategic partner and force multiplier for our CEO. This is a high-trust, high-impact role at the center of the company — you will operate across every function, translate strategy into execution, and ensure the organization moves with clarity and speed.
This is not an executive assistant role or a purely administrative function. You will be in the room for the company's most important decisions, own cross-functional initiatives end-to-end, and act as the connective tissue between the CEO's vision and the day-to-day execution of the business.
The ideal candidate is a structured thinker with strong business judgment, exceptional communication skills, and the discretion to handle sensitive, high-stakes information. You thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and are comfortable being both a strategic advisor and a hands-on operator when the situation calls for it.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Execution & Follow-Through
- Serve as the CEO's strategic thought partner, translating high-level vision into structured, executable plans across the organization.
- Own the operating cadence for company priorities — tracking OKRs/goals, surfacing risks early, and driving accountability across functional leaders.
- Run point on special projects that require cross-functional coordination and executive-level judgment, from new market entry to org design.
- Ensure decisions made in executive forums are actually implemented, with clear owners, timelines, and follow-up.
CEO & Executive Team Enablement
- Act as a force multiplier for the CEO — prioritizing their time, filtering inbound requests, and ensuring focus stays on the highest-leverage work.
- Prepare the CEO for board meetings, investor updates, all-hands, and external engagements with sharp, well-structured materials.
- Facilitate executive team meetings and offsites, driving toward clear decisions and documented outcomes rather than open-ended discussion.
- Represent the CEO's intent in cross-functional settings, exercising sound judgment about when to decide versus when to escalate.
Cross-Functional Orchestration
- Build and maintain visibility into what's happening across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to spot misalignment before it becomes a problem.
- Break down silos by connecting the right people and information at the right time, without adding unnecessary process.
- Own critical internal communications — company updates, strategic narratives, and change management messaging.
- Identify organizational bottlenecks and design pragmatic solutions, from process fixes to team restructuring recommendations.
Board & Investor Relations Support
- Project-manage the board meeting cycle end-to-end: agenda-setting, materials preparation, follow-up tracking, and governance logistics.
- Partner with Finance and the CEO to prepare investor updates, fundraising materials, and key metrics reporting.
- Maintain a clear, current view of company performance against strategic goals for use in board and investor conversations.
Special Initiatives & Problem-Solving
- Take direct ownership of ambiguous, high-priority problems that don't have an obvious functional home.
- Conduct rapid research and analysis to inform executive decision-making on new opportunities, risks, or strategic pivots.
- Step into an interim operating role for a function when needed, providing leadership continuity during transitions or gaps.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 7–12 years of experience in high-growth startup environments, management consulting, investment banking/private equity, or a prior Chief of Staff / strategy & operations role.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted advisor and extension of executive leadership, with strong judgment about when to act independently versus escalate.
- Exceptional structured thinking and problem-solving skills — comfortable moving from ambiguous,
undefined problems to clear plans and outcomes.
- Solid track record of cross-functional program and project management, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing board-level and investor-facing materials.
- High emotional intelligence and discretion; a track record of being trusted with sensitive, confidential information.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment with shifting priorities.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree a plus but not required given demonstrated results.
