FyneHand has been mandated to hire a Deputy Chief Information Officer for a leading player in the banking industry. The job location is Hyderabad.

Role overview: The Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO) supports the CIO in leading the bank's enterprise-wide technology function, covering IT infrastructure, applications, digital platforms, information security governance, and technology operations. The role is responsible for driving execution of the IT strategy, ensuring operational excellence, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and maintaining a secure, resilient, and scalable technology environment aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.

The Deputy CIO acts as a key strategic partner to business and technology stakeholders, ensuring efficient delivery of technology services while fostering innovation and continuous improvement across the Bank.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Strategy Execution & Leadership

- Support the CIO in implementing the bank's technology strategy and transformation roadmap
- Drive execution of technology initiatives aligned with business growth and digital priorities
- Assist in evaluating and implementing emerging technologies including AI, cloud computing, advanced analytics, automation, blockchain, and other creative solutions
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify technology opportunities that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency
- Act as the CIO's delegate in governance forums, committees, and strategic technology discussions as required

IT Infrastructure & Operations Management

- Oversee day-to-day management of enterprise IT infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, and data center operations
- Ensure high availability, reliability, performance, and scalability of critical banking systems and applications
- Lead IT operations, application support, service management, and incident resolution processes
- Monitor technology performance through defined service levels and operational metrics
- Drive continuous improvements in infrastructure modernization, automation, and operational efficiency

Cybersecurity, Governance & Risk Management

- Partner with the CIO and CISO to strengthen cybersecurity frameworks, governance standards, and risk management practices




- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, security standards, and audit requirements
- Support vulnerability assessments, security reviews, penetration testing, and risk remediation initiatives
- Oversee Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Disaster Recovery (DR), and operational resilience programs
- Monitor technology risks and implement proactive measures to mitigate operational and cybersecurity threats

Digital Transformation & Innovation

- Support the CIO and Chief Digital Officer in delivering digital transformation programs across channels, products, and customer journeys
- Promote agile delivery practices to accelerate technology implementation and business outcomes
- Drive innovation initiatives focused on automation, process optimization, digital platforms, and data-driven decision making
- Facilitate collaboration between technology and business teams to ensure successful adoption of digital solutions

Vendor, Partner & Budget Management

- Assist in managing IT budgets, resource planning, technology investments, and cost optimization initiatives
- Oversee vendor performance, service-level compliance, and technology partner relationships
- Support contract negotiations, procurement activities, and governance of third-party service providers
- Ensure effective utilization of technology resources while maintaining cost discipline and operational efficiency

Team Leadership & Organizational Capability

- Lead and mentor technology teams across infrastructure, applications, service delivery, digital platforms, and cybersecurity functions
- Build a high-performance culture through coaching, capability development, and succession planning
- Foster collaboration across business units and technology teams to drive organizational effectiveness
- Promote innovation, accountability,



and continuous learning within the technology organization
- Support workforce planning and talent development to build future-ready technology capabilities

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 15-20 years of progressive experience in Information Technology, with substantial leadership experience within the BFSI sector
- Proven track record of managing enterprise technology operations, infrastructure, and large-scale technology programs
- Strong exposure to core banking systems, digital banking platforms, IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and information security
- Experience in driving transformation initiatives, technology modernization, and operational excellence programs
- Demonstrated success in managing large teams, strategic vendors, and cross-functional stakeholder relationships
