Title: Chief Engineer

Job Purpose:

Lead the strategic management of engineering and maintenance operations to ensure operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and regulatory compliance.

:

- To ensure preventive or planned maintenance schedules are carried out.
- To allot jobs to the Contractor by giving him Job Orders to carry out the work with all safety and precautionary measures and same to be supervised.
- To obtain and analyze quotations.
- To plan and allocate resources effectively to ensure smooth operation of all engineering functions.
- To ensure discipline of Maintenance staff and administration of department.
- To ensure all equipment in the unit is always kept in a state of readiness, with minimum downtime, in such a way as not to hamper production and other related activity in the unit.
- To maintain liaison with Government and/or Statutory bodies besides utility suppliers.
- To ensure all requisite licenses and NOCs are always updated.
- To ensure HACCP and if any other guidelines /checklists are always maintained.
- To keep Maintenance costs within Maintenance Expenses Budget.
- To ensure Energy Budget is within limits at the same time maintaining comfort and mandatory regulations.
- To ensure proper liaising with all the other departments/HODs for smooth operation.
- To ensure all complaints from users are attended to and solved at the earliest without affecting comfort, quality, and productivity.
- To plan and co-ordinate in making budgets (Expenses and Energy) for the coming Financial Year
- To plan, propose and execute (after due authorization) capital budgets as may be necessary.




- To ensure all training needs of staff in the department are met and implemented as well as to establish the necessary rapport with the staff and meeting ESTS guidelines.

- Prompt resolution of user complaints
- Sustainability Initiatives
- Implementation of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Practices
- Planning and Execution of Upgradation Projects

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical)
- 10+ years of qualified experience post-qualification
- Prior experience in similar roles within the hospitality industry
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work on-call and respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours.

Key Customers Internal stakeholders such as production departments, procurement teams, senior management, and external stakeholders such as government bodies, utility suppliers, and vendors.

Key Success Metrics

Performance against Equipment Downtime, Maintenance Cost Control, Operational Efficiency, Sustainability Initiatives, Safety and Hygiene and Preventive Maintenance is measured.

Language Proficiency

Should be fluent in both English and Hindi

- MS Office

- BMS (Building Management System)

Travel Should be flexible to move within the company according to requirement and also for personal growth.
