Role & responsibilities

- Monitor and optimize chemical parameters in the melamine moulding process.

- Manage colour mixing, pigmentation, and surface finishing to achieve consistent product quality.

- Troubleshoot issues such as colour mismatch, surface defects, burn marks, cracks, and finish-related problems.

- Work closely with Production, Quality, and R&D; teams for process improvement.

- Evaluate and develop raw materials such as melamine resin, hardener, pigments, and other additives.

- Conduct trials for new raw materials, colours, formulations, and process improvements.

- Ensure compliance with food-grade chemical safety and quality requirements.

- Maintain MSDS/SDS records and ensure proper storage, handling, and labelling of chemicals.

- Monitor product quality parameters related to strength, shine, durability, colour, and surface finish.

- Maintain process reports, technical documentation, and quality records.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rejection, improve productivity, and maintain consistent product quality.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or M.Sc.



in Industrial Chemistry / Applied Chemistry.

- 24 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, preferably in melamine, moulding, kitchenware, plastics, resins, or similar product manufacturing.

- Hands-on knowledge of melamine-formaldehyde resin, moulding processes, hardeners, pigments, and additives.

- Practical experience in colour formulation, pigmentation, and surface finishing will be preferred.

- Good understanding of food-grade chemical safety and compliance requirements.

- Robust problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a practical approach.

- Knowledge of MSDS/SDS, chemical handling, storage, and documentation.

- Familiarity with quality standards for domestic and export markets.

- Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and ERP systems for reporting, BOM, inventory, and QC tracking.

- Good communication and coordination skills with Production, Quality, and R&D; teams.

- Candidates who are hands-on, quality-focused, analytical, and willing to work in a manufacturing environment will be preferred.
