Bengaluru
Who we are
Openhouse is building a new-age learning ecosystem for children, bringing high-quality learning experiences across academics, sports and extracurriculars closer to where children live.
Backed by leading investors including Accel, Matrix Partners and GSV, Openhouse has grown to
12 learning centres across Bangalore, reaching 10,000+ children through our centres and programs. We are now taking this experience beyond our centres and into the communities where families live.
Over the last three months, we have already gone live in 12+ apartments, bringing Openhouse's learning experiences directly into residential communities. This is just the beginning. Our ambition is to build a significant At Apartment and At Home presence across Bangalore, making high-quality learning accessible without children having to travel across the city.
Why sports?
Sports will be one of the strongest pillars of this expansion.
Apartments already have something that makes sports uniquely powerful — children, facilities and communities in one place. Whether it is a badminton court, football ground, swimming pool,
skating area or multipurpose space, there is an chance to turn existing community infrastructure into a vibrant sporting ecosystem for children.
But great sports programs need more than just a facility. They need great coaches, strong academies, consistent operations and, importantly, opportunities for children to compete and progress.
That's where openhouse comes in.
We want to build a sports network where a child can discover a sport, find a great coach, train consistently, participate in competitions and progress — all within or close to their own community.
about the role Preschool & Extracurriculars
We are looking for a Sports Category Manager who can build this ecosystem from the ground up.
This is not a conventional vendor-management or operations role. You will be responsible for building the supply side of Openhouse Sports — creating relationships with individual coaches and academies, identifying and onboarding great talent, and building a network that allows us to launch sports programs rapidly across apartments.
There will be three key ways in which we build our sports network:
1. Build the supply ourselves
Where an apartment has a sports facility but no coach, identify the requirement, find the right coach and deploy them.
2. Partner with individual coaches
Identify talented coaches who are currently teaching independently but may be looking for a better professional opportunity. Give them access to multiple apartments and take away the operational workload, allowing them to focus on what they do best — coaching children.
3. Partner with established academies
Work with existing cricket, football, badminton, swimming, skating, karate and other sports academies to bring their best coaches into Openhouse communities. In return, help these academies expand their footprint across Bangalore without disrupting their existing coach-
student ecosystem.
Alongside this, you will help build an Openhouse sports competition ecosystem — inter-
apartment tournaments, leagues and events that give children opportunities to compete, create stronger community engagement and make sports a long-term habit.
