Job Purpose The Capex Controller will be responsible for monitoring and controlling capital expenditure activities, ensuring accurate capitalization of assets, effective cash flow monitoring, and timely financial reporting. The role will work closely with Project, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Accounts teams to ensure proper accounting and financial control of CAPEX projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and monitor CAPEX accounting and capitalization activities for ongoing and completed projects.
- Handle SAP HANA-based capitalization of capital assets and ensure accurate accounting entries.
- Review project-related expenditures and ensure appropriate classification between CAPEX and OPEX.
- Monitor project-wise CAPEX budgets, commitments, actual expenditure, and variances.
- Track and monitor cash flow requirements for CAPEX projects and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for timely fund planning.
- Prepare and monitor CAPEX cash flow forecasts and highlight potential deviations.
- Ensure timely capitalization of assets upon project completion and maintain accurate records of CWIP (Capital Work in Progress).
- Coordinate with Project, Procurement, Engineering, and Finance teams for timely closure and capitalization of projects.
- Review purchase orders, invoices, advances, and project expenditure from a capitalization and accounting perspective.




- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and provide regular MIS/reporting to management.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to CAPEX, CWIP, and fixed assets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies related to project costs, capitalization, and accounting entries.
- Assist in internal and statutory audits related to CAPEX, fixed assets, and project accounting.

Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of CAPEX accounting and capitalization processes.
- Hands-on experience in SAP HANA, particularly in capitalization and fixed asset accounting.
- Valuable understanding of cash flow monitoring and forecasting.
- Experience in CWIP accounting, fixed assets, project accounting, and CAPEX budgeting.
- Strong analytical and MIS reporting skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Good understanding of accounting standards, financial controls, and audit requirements.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.

Educational Qualification

Preferred:

- CA / CMA (Qualified)
- CA / CMA Inter-qualified candidates may also be considered.

Preferred Industry Background Candidates from the following industries will be preferred:
- Steel & Metals
- Infrastructure
- Manufacturing

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in CAPEX controlling, SAP HANA capitalization, CWIP accounting, project expenditure monitoring, and CAPEX cash flow management, preferably gained in a large-scale steel, infrastructure, manufacturing, or project environment.
