About This Role

4 to 12 years of experience

Skills: Calypso Testing, Calypso v16+, Functional Testing, Regression Testing, EOD Batch Testing, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Back Office, SQL, Linux, Jenkins, Trade Lifecycle, Market Data, Reconciliation Testing, Defect Management

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Calypso QA professional to test and assure the Calypso platform across Rates, Credit, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Backoffice. You will work on end-to-end functional, regression, and batch testing for Calypso releases which includes trade lifecycle, market data, EOD processing, reports, and downstream reconciliation.

Hands-on Calypso testing experience is mandatory on Calypso v16 or higher.

What you will do

- - Design, execute, and maintain functional, regression, and UAT test cases for Calypso across trade capture, pricing, lifecycle events, and backoffice processing.

- - Validate EOD / scheduled batch execution (scheduled tasks, engines, scheduled jobs) and analyse failures using logs, task status, and environment health.

- - Test market data setup and consumption (curves, quotes, feeds, valuation inputs) and the impact on pricing, P&L;, and reports.

- - Cover product and domain flows such as:

o Fixed Income (bonds, repos, related reports and recon) o Derivatives (rates/credit derivatives, lifecycle, valuations)

o Backoffice (settlements, confirmations, accounting/postings, operational reports)

- - Perform trade, position, cash, and report reconciliation between Calypso and related systems or baseline environments.

- - Analyse release-on-release / workplace-on-environment differences in Calypso outputs (trades, reports,

extracts, CSV/XML) and raise clear, evidence-based defects.

- - Execute and monitor Jenkins jobs for test environments, batch runs, file diffs, and regression packs; follow up on failed builds.

- - Query SQL databases to validate trade attributes, static data, market data, and post-batch results.

- - Work on Linux servers for log analysis, job status, file drops, and environment troubleshooting.

- - Partner with BA, development, environment, and operations teams through the release cycle; support defect triage and sign-off.

- - Contribute to test planning, coverage for change requests, and quality of regression observation / test summary reporting.

Must have

- - 4–12 years of overall experience in software testing / QA.

- - Mandatory hands-on Calypso testing experience (not only generic trading-system QA).

- - Strong understanding of Calypso trade lifecycle, static data, and typical Calypso modules relevant to markets/backoffice.

- - Practical experience testing EOD / batch processing in Calypso (or equivalent treasury/markets platforms with scheduled end-of-day).

- - Ability to analyse reports, extracts, and recon breaks and explain root cause in business and technical terms.

- - Experience writing and executing structured test cases; defect logging and follow-through to closure.

- - Comfortable working in a release-driven environment with tight regression windows.

Good to have
- - SQL: queries for data validation (trades, positions, market data, scheduled-task outcomes).

- - Linux: basic shell, logs, file handling, process/job checks.

- - Jenkins : triggering, monitoring, and diagnosing CI/CD or batch-related jobs.

- - Exposure to market data (curves, FX, bonds, credit spreads, feeds) and how it drives Calypso valuation.

- - Domain knowledge of Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Backoffice operations.

- - Experience with regression comparison tooling, file/CSV diffs, or in-house QA automation around Calypso outputs.

- - Familiarity with related markets platforms or interfaces (e.g. Murex, MarkitWire, Bloomberg, scheduled-job schedulers such as Control-M) is a plus.

- - Understanding of pricing, P&L;, CSA/collateral, or trade reconciliation concepts.

Skills and attributes

- - Structured, evidence-based tester: can separate true breaks from expected differences (config, dates, market data, known exceptions).

- - Strong written communication for defect reports, observation summaries, and stakeholder updates.

- - Able to work across product squads (FI, Derivatives, Backoffice) without losing depth on Calypso behaviour.

- - Pragmatic under release pressure; prioritises high-risk product and batch paths first.

Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
