Business Development Executive — Booktara (SaaS)

About the role

Booktara is an early-stage SaaS product being sharpened down to its best-selling offering. This is a 0-to-1

revenue role: you own the sales number and are the person accountable for turning the product into a repeatable revenue engine. You will work directly with the founder on positioning and pricing, coordinate with the dev team on product improvements customers are asking for, and run both inbound and outbound to convert pipeline into paying customers. This is a small, scrappy setup — you will do the work, not just plan it.

What you'll own

● The revenue target: pipeline to closed deals, across SMB and enterprise segments

● Outbound: build and work a prospect list, cold outreach, demos, follow-through to close

● Inbound: qualify and convert marketing-generated and organic leads

● Product feedback loop: bring real customer objections and requests back to the founder and dev team to sharpen the offering and pricing

● Sales collateral and messaging, working with the (shared)



marketing team for assets and campaigns

● Reporting: weekly pipeline, conversion, and revenue numbers

Must-haves

● Prior SaaS sales / business development experience (non-negotiable — you understand recurring-revenue selling, trials, churn, and how SaaS buyers decide)

● Proven closing: you have personally carried and hit a sales number

● Comfortable with both outbound hunting and inbound closing

● Willing to work night / US-aligned shifts as the role expands to the US market — this is a genuine requirement, not occasional. Expect regular evening-to-night hours.

● Hands-on operator — happy in a setup where you execute directly, not through a large team

● Clear written and spoken English

Good to have

● Sold to both SMB and enterprise buyers

● Worked closely with product / dev on customer-driven improvements

● Early-stage / founding-team experience

Compensation

Rs. 4.8 LPA fixed + performance incentive tied to revenue closed (structure discussed at offer stage)
