Position: Branch Operations Manager

Location: Hyderabad, Telangana

Department: Business Operations

Employment Type: Full-time

Reporting To: Founder / Managing Director

Experience: 5–8 years

Preferred Background: Consulting, strategy, branding, business advisory, professional services, B2B services, or a high-accountability business environment

ABOUT MAGSmen

Magsmen is a business-integrated brand consulting firm working at the intersection of business strategy, brand strategy, market intelligence, communication, experience, digital systems, governance, and commercial growth. Magsmen does not approach branding as a communication exercise. The objective is to understand the business, diagnose structural problems, create strategic clarity, and translate that clarity into measurable business outcomes.

Our approach moves through Discovery, Diagnosis, Design, Delivery, and Development. Our work addresses business positioning, market intelligence, audience behaviour, brand perception, identity, communication, digital infrastructure, financial alignment, legal and governance considerations, internal culture, and future readiness.

The Hyderabad branch is intended to become a serious regional business centre for Magsmen. The Branch Operations Manager will be responsible for building the operating discipline, commercial performance, client relationships, team capability, and regional presence required to achieve this.

ROLE PURPOSE The Branch Operations Manager will own the day-to-day business operations of the Hyderabad region and will be accountable for branch revenue, business development coordination, client management, project execution, team productivity, collections, process discipline, market development, and operational performance.

This is not an administrative coordination role. The person will act as the operating bridge between Magsmen’s central strategic direction and Hyderabad execution.

The manager must be able to look at Hyderabad as a business unit and continuously answer five questions: Where is revenue coming from? What is blocking conversion? What is happening with every active client? Where is the team losing productivity? What needs to change now?

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Branch Business Ownership

Own Hyderabad branch performance against agreed revenue, profitability, client, team, and operational targets. Convert company-level objectives into a regional operating plan covering client acquisition, revenue, pipeline, delivery, manpower, partnerships, and market development. Establish weekly, monthly, and quarterly operating rhythms.

Track performance against targets and identify deviations early. Maintain visibility on revenue, collections, sales pipeline, proposals, active projects, receivables, team productivity, client health, and operational risks. Solve problems within the branch wherever authority permits and escalate only matters requiring leadership intervention.

Revenue and Commercial Operations

Own the commercial operating discipline of the branch in coordination with business development and consulting teams. Maintain a structured pipeline from prospecting through qualification, meetings, proposals, negotiation, closure, onboarding, and collection. Ensure every opportunity has an owner, value, stage, probability, next action, and expected closure date.

Track lead-to-meeting, meeting-to-proposal, proposal-to-closure, and closure-to-collection conversion. Diagnose lost opportunities and identify issues relating to pricing, positioning, proposal quality, competition, decision-maker access, or sales execution. Support senior leadership in high-value meetings and negotiations.

Ensure commercial commitments match approved scope, pricing, and delivery capacity. Prevent uncontrolled discounting and commercially weak commitments. Track receivables and payment milestones closely.

Business Development and Hyderabad Market Development

Build Magsmen’s presence within Hyderabad’s business ecosystem. Develop relationships with founders, promoters, CXOs, investors, family businesses, professional networks, institutions, industry associations, and relevant ecosystem stakeholders. Identify sectors and business clusters where Magsmen can create significant strategic value.

Develop a regional opportunity map covering target companies, decision-makers, business stage, strategic problems, opportunity value, and relationship status. Build structured prospecting and referral systems rather than depending entirely on inbound leads.

Represent

Magsmen at relevant business forums, founder communities, conferences, and industry events. Focus on high-quality strategic opportunities rather than lead volume.

Client Management

Own the quality of the client experience from onboarding to project completion and subsequent engagement. Establish clear communication between clients and internal consulting, strategy, research, creative, digital, and specialist teams. Monitor expectations against contracted scope. Identify scope creep,

delays, communication gaps, quality concerns, and relationship risks before they become escalations. Track client health, satisfaction, repeat business, referrals, pending decisions, commercial opportunities, and risks. Support account expansion when genuine strategic requirements emerge while maintaining commercial discipline.

Protect

Magsmen’s reputation in every client interaction.

Project and Delivery Operations

Create operating discipline across Hyderabad projects. Ensure every project has defined objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, responsibilities, dependencies, review points, and completion criteria. Monitor progress against agreed timelines.

Coordinate internal resources and resolve bottlenecks involving information, approvals, people, assets, or decisions. Maintain project documentation. Track resource utilisation and project economics where applicable.

Ensure final outputs meet Magsmen’s consulting standards and agreed client mandate. Distinguish between strategic problems and execution problems and intervene accordingly.

Team Management

Manage and develop the Hyderabad team. Establish responsibilities, reporting structures, priorities, and performance expectations. Conduct regular team and individual reviews. Monitor productivity and capability gaps.

Ensure employees understand both what they are expected to execute and the business reason behind the work. Build accountability around ownership and deadlines. Address underperformance early. Work with leadership on recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and retention.

Develop future team leaders. Ensure the branch reflects Magsmen’s standards of strategic thinking, commercial discipline, client confidentiality, professional conduct, and intellectual honesty.

Process and Operating System

Build and continuously improve the Hyderabad operating system. Standardise recurring processes covering sales coordination, client onboarding, project initiation, project tracking, reporting, collections, reviews, documentation, and feedback. Identify processes that can be simplified or automated.

Ensure CRM and internal systems remain accurate and current. Build dashboards and reporting systems that give leadership a clear view of branch performance. Introduce SOPs where recurring operational failures are identified.

The objective is not bureaucracy. It is predictability.

Performance Reporting

Prepare regular branch performance reports for senior leadership covering revenue, collections, pipeline, conversion, projects, profitability, client health, team productivity, recruitment needs, risks, and regional opportunities. Reporting must include diagnosis, not merely numbers. Where targets are missed, identify the cause, owner, corrective action, and timeline. Where performance improves, determine whether the improvement is sustainable.

Financial and Commercial Discipline

Coordinate with finance to monitor branch-level billing, collections, receivables, expenses, project costs, and profitability. Ensure commercial commitments are properly documented and approved. Monitor project scope against contracts and flag margin erosion, excessive resource usage, delayed billing, unapproved work, and payment risks. Develop strong commercial judgement. A project can be successful for the client and still be commercially weak for Magsmen.

Governance, Legal and IP Discipline

Ensure branch operations comply with Magsmen’s policies, client agreements, confidentiality requirements, intellectual property standards, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Protect client information, strategic documents, proprietary frameworks, research, commercial information, and other confidential assets. Ensure employees do not make unauthorised commitments.

Maintain discipline around Magsmen’s proprietary methodologies, templates, presentations, research, frameworks, and intellectual property. Escalate potential contractual, legal, reputational, confidentiality, IP, or compliance risks immediately. Support appropriate documentation of contracts, statements of work, approvals, commercial commitments, and client communications.

Brand Representation

Represent Magsmen professionally in the Hyderabad market. Ensure branch communication remains consistent with Magsmen’s positioning as a strategic consulting firm and is not reduced to conventional advertising, design, or marketing agency work. Maintain consistency across meetings, proposals, presentations, events, office interactions, digital communication, and client servicing.

Market Intelligence

Continuously track Hyderabad’s business environment and identify opportunities relevant to Magsmen. Monitor emerging industries, investment activity, GCC development, startup growth, family business transitions, corporate restructuring, D2C growth, technology adoption, category disruption, and changing founder priorities. Identify recurring strategic problems and convert relevant intelligence into business development opportunities. Feed regional intelligence back to leadership.

Leadership Support

Support the Founder and senior consulting leadership on major Hyderabad initiatives. Prepare client intelligence, meeting briefs, opportunity assessments, business information, and follow-up plans. Translate leadership decisions into execution and follow initiatives through to completion. Identify issues that leadership may not see because of distance from daily operations. The manager is expected to solve problems independently rather than become a messenger between leadership and employees.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Performance will be measured through outcomes, not activity volume. Core KPIs include Hyderabad revenue against target, collections against billing, qualified sales pipeline, proposal-to-closure conversion, new client acquisition, average account value, repeat business, referral generation, client retention, project delivery against timelines, project profitability, client satisfaction, team productivity, employee retention, receivables ageing, operating cost discipline, and branch contribution to overall Magsmen growth.

Additional measures will include reduction in operational errors, speed of issue resolution, reporting quality, process maturity, and reduced dependence on Founder intervention.

CANDIDATE PROFILE The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of experience in business operations, consulting operations, professional services, business development, account management, or a comparable B2B environment. Demonstrated experience managing teams, targets, clients, and measurable business outcomes is essential.

Strong commercial understanding and financial awareness are required. The candidate should be comfortable with CRM systems, project management systems, dashboards, reporting, and structured operating processes. Experience in consulting, branding, advertising, business advisory, or professional services is preferred. Hyderabad market knowledge and an established professional network will be an advantage.

The person must demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, analytical thinking, problem solving, project management, people leadership, client management, and execution discipline. The candidate must be comfortable handling ambiguity, deadlines, commercial pressure, difficult conversations, and multiple priorities.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

This is not an office administration position, pure sales position, client servicing coordinator role, or project coordination role. It is a business operations leadership position where revenue, delivery, people, client experience, finance, and market development must operate as one system.

FIRST 90 DAYS

During the first 30 days, the manager will understand Magsmen’s methodology, business model, active clients, sales pipeline, team structure, delivery system, financial processes, reporting mechanisms, internal standards, and Hyderabad market.

By 60 days, the manager should have established branch operating rhythms, pipeline visibility, project tracking, team reviews, client health tracking, reporting, and immediate corrective actions for operational gaps.

By 90 days, the manager should be independently operating Hyderabad against measurable accountability for revenue, pipeline, delivery, people, collections, and client experience, with a clear regional growth plan.

SUCCESS DEFINITION The Branch Operations Manager will succeed when Hyderabad operates as a predictable and commercially accountable business unit rather than a collection of individuals.

The objective is to build a branch capable of acquiring the right clients, delivering high-quality strategic work, collecting revenue on time, retaining strong people, protecting Magsmen’s intellectual property and reputation, and creating a sustainable regional growth engine.

COMPENSATION

Compensation will be based on experience, capability, and demonstrated commercial ownership. A performance-linked component may be attached to agreed branch-level business outcomes.

APPLICATION

Candidates should submit their CV along with a brief note describing their experience in managing business operations, revenue, teams, clients, and measurable business outcomes. Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete a practical case exercise based on a simulated Hyderabad branch operating problem.

Magsmen is an equal prospect employer. Employment decisions are based on capability, experience, performance, professional conduct, and organisational requirements.
