Role Description The Board of Advisory Member – Funding & Grants (Probono) is a full-time remote role focused on strengthening HackHalt’s financial sustainability and growth through strategic funding initiatives. The advisory member will identify and evaluate grant opportunities, funding programs, and sponsorships aligned with the organization’s mission and long-term goals. This role involves guiding research on potential donors and grant-making bodies, providing strategic input on proposal development, and reviewing funding applications to ensure clarity, compliance, and impact.





The advisory member will collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to shape funding strategies, support fundraising campaigns, and advise on financial planning and resource allocation. Day-to-day activities include attending virtual board and committee meetings, offering expert recommendations on funding priorities, and mentoring core team members on best practices in grants and fundraising.

Qualifications

- Strong finance and fundraising skills, with experience in grants, sponsorships, or nonprofit fundraising.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and research capabilities for evaluating funding opportunities and donor landscapes.
- Exposure to marketing and communication strategies that support fundraising campaigns and stakeholder engagement.
- Prior advisory or leadership experience in nonprofit, social impact, or mission-driven organizations is beneficial.
- Understanding of cyber security, technology, or digital policy ecosystems is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business, public policy, economics, or a related field preferred.
- Commitment to probono service and alignment with HackHalt’s mission to strengthen global cyber resilience.
