Prior experience in public health programs, field deployment, or healthcare technology projects will be an advantage.
Experience in device market research, integration with software platforms, SDK/API coordination, or digital health systems will be preferred.
Justification for Hiring Biomedical Engineer The AI Public Health Project is dependent on multiple medical devices across disease tracks, including cervical cancer, COPD, oral cancer/ENT, TB, cardiac screening, and other point-of-care diagnostic areas.
These devices will act as primary input sources for the digital and AI platform through images, readings, reports, and clinical metadata.
As the project moves toward pilot implementation, there is a need for dedicated technical ownership of device selection, technical evaluation, procurement support, integration readiness, field deployment, maintenance planning, and vendor coordination.
In addition, the project explore partnerships pathways of white-labelling, co-development, or localization of selected devices. This requires a role that can bridge public health needs, clinical usability, engineering feasibility, software integration, regulatory documentation, and vendor capability assessment.
Currently, these responsibilities are distributed across the program, IT, procurement, and clinical teams. As the pilot timeline approaches, this fragmented approach may lead to delays in device readiness, incomplete technical evaluation, integration gaps, field-level breakdowns, and lack of accountability for device performance.
A Biomedical Engineer is required to provide dedicated technical support for all device-related activities under the AI Public Health Project. The role will act as a bridge between the program team, software development team, clinical experts, field teams, procurement team, and device vendors.
The position is critical to ensure that all medical devices used in the project are technically suitable, clinically usable, integration-ready, field-ready, and maintained during implementation.
