About The Job:

- The L3 Backup Administrator leads backup operations, mentoring L1/L2 admins, planning the overall backup/restoration strategy for 24x7 operations, and driving root-cause analysis for severity-1 backup incidents across EMC Networker/NetBackup environments.

Essential Job Functions:

Leadership & Strategy

- Mentor team members and guide them on technical/operational issues; plan the overall backup/restoration strategy.

- Perform root cause analysis for severity-1 issues and handle escalations from team members.

- Plan and implement Change Requests; oversee installation, configuration, and migration activities.

Technical Administration

- Administer EMC Networker/Avamar or NetBackup Master/Media Servers, including disaster recovery and performance tuning.

- Configure and manage VTL, Data Domain, storage pools, and multi-tenancy backup environments.

- Handle SAP, Oracle, SQL, VADP, and NDMP backups; support migration between different OS/backup tools.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong knowledge of EMC Networker or NetBackup concepts and administration.

- Experience in media management (check-in/check-out, labeling, offsite media management).

- 6–10 years total IT experience, minimum 5–8 years in Backup Administration/Support.





- Experience with backup migration, installation, upgrades, and patching.

Soft Skills & Competencies

- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

- Enterprise-level customer handling skills.

- Ability to mentor L1/L2 backup administrators.

Certification Requirements

- EMC Networker Certified Qualified or NetBackup equivalent

- ITIL Foundation
