About The Job:

- The L2 Backup Administrator provides day-to-day operational support of enterprise backup infrastructure (NetBackup), handling incidents, change requests, and scheduling to meet client SLAs, while contributing to the overall backup and restoration strategy for 24x7 operations.

Essential Job Functions:

Operations & Incident Handling

- Adhere to SLAs defined by the business/client; report to the Track Lead / Team Lead for technical and operational activities.

- Handle incidents related to backups; raise and implement Change Requests for approvals.

- Troubleshoot technical issues related to backups and ensure process adherence for problem/incident/change requests.

Backup Administration

- Working knowledge of Symantec NetBackup; configure and maintain NDMP and Database backups.

- Schedule recent backups, modify existing jobs, and perform restores.

- Install, configure, and administer NetBackup, including multiplexing, multistreaming, and disk staging optimization.

Qualification:

Required Skills & Experience

- Working knowledge on Symantec NetBackup and IP Network/SAN-based data backup design.

- Familiarity with data protection and recovery solutions (virtual tape, disk-to-disk-to-tape, replication).

- Unix and/or Windows systems administration experience.





- 3–6 years total experience, minimum 3 years in Backup Administration/Support.

Soft Skills & Competencies

- Excellent verbal and written communication.

- Good documentation and customer-handling skills.

- Ability to handle unforeseen situations with a high level of acceptance.

Certification Requirements

- NetBackup (Essential)

- Any other Backup Technology (Desired)
