NewArtX is Looking for:**** NewArtX (Elephant Canvas LLP) is India's curated Digital Fine Art (DFA) marketplace — buyers collect, invest in, and display blockchain-authenticated digital paintings by hand-selected artists. We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our small, fast-moving tech team and own the Node.js backend layer end-to-end.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and scale live production backend systems powering the NewArtX marketplace
- Design, build, and optimise RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js
- Build new features including a rental/subscription model and a bidding system
- Manage MySQL and MongoDB databases — schema design, queries, and performance
- Own code-to-production deployment via CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent) on AWS
- Collaborate closely with frontend, QA, and design team members
- Stay current with backend and Web3/blockchain technologies relevant to the platform
Must-Have Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on backend development with Node.js
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript
- Solid experience with MySQL (primary DB); MongoDB familiarity is a plus
- Proven ownership of REST API design and full lifecycle — built, not just maintained
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and shipping code independently to production
- Basic working knowledge of AWS
- Stable employment history — consistent tenure with clear reasons for transitions
- Based in Mumbai or willing to relocate within 30 days
Good to Have
- Experience with NestJS or Express.js frameworks
- Exposure to Web3 / blockchain technologies (smart contracts, NFT platforms)
- Background in a B2C product company
- GraphQL experience
- Experience with complex transactional systems (bidding, payments, auctions)
- Docker / containerisation basics
