About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Backend Engineer Intern (.NET/C#) to join our growing development team. The intern will gain hands-on experience in backend development by contributing to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs and backend services.

You will work closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, and product teams to build reliable software solutions using C#, .NET, REST APIs, SQL Server, and related backend technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and RESTful APIs using C# and .NET.
- Develop clean, scalable, secure, and maintainable backend code.
- Work with SQL Server and relational databases to create, manage, and optimize data models and queries.
- Assist in implementing business logic, data access layers, and API integrations.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate REST APIs with web and mobile applications.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve backend and API-related issues.
- Assist with unit testing, integration testing, and API testing.
- Participate in code reviews and follow backend development best practices.
- Maintain and improve existing codebases for performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Assist with backend service deployment and troubleshooting across development and test environments.
- Use Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Stay updated with .NET, C#, API development, database technologies, and backend engineering best practices.

Required Skills





- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of C#.
- Familiarity with .NET / .NET Core / ASP.NET Core.
- Basic understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, JSON, and API concepts.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
- Familiarity with Visual Studio or similar development environments.
- Understanding of Git/GitHub and version control.
- Good problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills

- Academic or personal project experience in C#/.NET backend development.
- Familiarity with ASP.NET Core Web API.
- Understanding of Entity Framework Core (EF Core).
- Knowledge of LINQ and database querying.
- Basic understanding of dependency injection, middleware, authentication, and authorization.
- Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI and API testing tools such as Postman.
- Basic knowledge of Git workflows and branching strategies.
- Exposure to unit testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms, Docker, CI/CD, or DevOps practices is a plus.
