About The Role

Kake is seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in TypeScript, Python, or C# to join its dynamic team. This role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to high-performance, scalable systems that support millions of users globally. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will take ownership of building and maintaining backend services, designing APIs, and making architectural decisions that influence the core systems of the company.

Your work will directly impact the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of Kake’s products, enabling the company to deliver exceptional solutions to its diverse client base. The ideal candidate is passionate about clean code, best practices, and innovative system design, with a collaborative mindset to work closely with product managers, frontend developers, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications The successful candidate will possess at least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with practical knowledge of TypeScript, Python, or C#.



Demonstrated expertise in designing and versioning REST or GraphQL APIs is essential, along with a robust understanding of modern development workflows, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure. Candidates should have a solid foundation in system design, data modeling, and service architecture, with familiarity in both relational databases (SQL) and NoSQL solutions like MongoDB.

Excellent problem-solving skills, debugging capabilities, and a commitment to writing clean, testable, and robust code are critical. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are necessary to facilitate effective collaboration in a remote environment. The ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt to fast-paced projects is highly valued.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Kake, your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and deploying production-grade backend services using TypeScript, Python, or C#. You will own your work end-to-end, from initial implementation to deployment, ensuring high quality and performance standards. You will build and maintain APIs, including REST and GraphQL, that serve as the backbone of client-server interactions.

Making informed architectural decisions around data modeling, service boundaries, and component design will be crucial to creating scalable and maintainable systems. You will also model and query data across relational and NoSQL databases, selecting the appropriate storage solutions for various use cases.



Writing clean, well-tested code with comprehensive observability and debugging tools in place will be part of your daily routine.

Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine system architecture, improve existing systems, and contribute to best practices in engineering processes. Staying current with emerging technologies and AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality is encouraged.
