Job Summary: We are looking for a strong Backend Developer to build, operate, and improve large-scale distributed systems and backend applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Java and Python, distributed systems, microservices, Kafka/event streaming, and production engineering.

This role requires someone who can not only develop new features but also debug complex production issues, improve system performance and reliability, build automation, and work with high-scale systems handling large volumes of data and traffic.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, build, enhance, and maintain scalable backend applications and distributed systems.
- Develop new features and solutions using strong backend engineering fundamentals.

- Debug and troubleshoot complex production issues and drive permanent fixes.
- Work with high-throughput, scalable systems and large-scale datasets.
- Build and support microservices and event-driven/streaming applications.

- Drive automation, operational improvements, and engineering excellence.
- Improve system scalability, resiliency, reliability, and performance.
- Participate in incident management and on-call support when required.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and sprint plans.
- Continuously identify system gaps and drive improvements through automation and better engineering practices.

Must-Have Skills:

- 5–7 years of relevant backend engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java and Python.
- Experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems and distributed applications.

- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and scalable backend systems.




- Hands-on experience with Kafka, event streaming, or streaming data processing.
- Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.

- Strong production support, debugging, troubleshooting, and incident management experience.
- Experience with system design, scalability, resiliency, and performance optimization.
- Exposure to high-throughput systems, high-QPS applications, or large-scale workloads.

- Strong automation and operational excellence mindset.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience designing or building systems from scratch and iterating/redesigning complex applications.

- Experience supporting applications serving millions of users or handling large-scale data.
- Experience with databases and backend data technologies.
- Experience with latency-sensitive, content, or large-scale platform applications.

- Exposure to AI/LLM or large-scale inference systems is an added advantage.
- Cloud experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Experience working across multiple technologies and platforms.

- Agile/Sprint planning and collaboration experience.

Industry Experience: Candidates with experience working on large-scale backend applications serving millions of users, high-QPS systems, or large-volume data platforms.
