Essential Job Functions:

AWS Infrastructure Management

- Manage and maintain AWS cloud environments across development, testing, and production.

- Provision, configure, and administer AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, EBS, RDS, Route 53, IAM, ELB, and Auto Scaling.

- Monitor AWS infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, performance, and scalability.

- Perform regular infrastructure health checks and capacity planning activities.

- Optimize AWS resource utilization and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

- Manage compute, storage, networking, database, and load-balancing resources.

- Support infrastructure upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and lifecycle management.

- Maintain cloud infrastructure documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

Cloud Operations & Support

- Provide L2 operational support for AWS infrastructure incidents, alerts, and service requests.

- Troubleshoot and resolve AWS infrastructure issues within defined SLAs.

- Perform root-cause analysis for recurring infrastructure and availability issues.

- Support application and infrastructure deployment activities across AWS environments.

- Execute infrastructure changes in accordance with approved change-management processes.

- Participate in incident, problem, change, and release management activities.

- Coordinate with application, network, security, database, and DevOps teams to resolve complex issues.

- Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational readiness activities.

Security & Compliance

- Implement AWS security best practices and cloud governance controls.

- Manage IAM users, groups, roles, policies, permissions, and access reviews.

- Apply least-privilege access principles across AWS environments.

- Support security audits, compliance assessments, and regulatory reviews.





- Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities, configuration risks, and compliance findings.

- Monitor AWS security alerts and coordinate responses to operational and security risks.

- Support encryption, key management, logging, and secure configuration requirements.

- Maintain compliance with organizational security standards and cloud governance policies.

Automation & DevOps Support

- Automate AWS infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

- Develop and maintain Terraform or AWS CloudFormation templates.

- Support CI/CD pipeline integrations and automated deployment processes.

- Develop operational scripts using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Shell scripting.

- Automate routine health checks, monitoring, reporting, and administrative tasks.

- Support configuration management and infrastructure standardization.

- Contribute to DevOps automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Implement reusable automation components to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Monitoring & Performance Management

- Configure and manage AWS CloudWatch monitoring, dashboards, metrics, and alerts.

- Monitor EC2, RDS, networking, storage, and application infrastructure performance.

- Analyze system logs, CloudWatch metrics, events, and operational trends.

- Investigate performance bottlenecks and recommend infrastructure improvements.

- Implement proactive monitoring and alerting to identify potential issues before service impact.

- Tune AWS resources based on workload, performance, and capacity requirements.

- Track resource utilization and support performance and scalability assessments.

- Develop operational reports and dashboards for infrastructure health and service availability.

Backup, Availability & Disaster Recovery

- Configure and maintain AWS backup and recovery mechanisms for critical infrastructure.

- Support AWS Backup, EBS snapshots, RDS backups, and retention policies.

- Validate backup success and participate in periodic restore testing.





- Support high-availability architectures across Availability Zones.

- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and remediation activities.

- Monitor recovery objectives and ensure infrastructure meets defined RTO and RPO requirements.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

- Create and maintain AWS operational runbooks, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting guides.

- Document standard operating procedures for provisioning, monitoring, incident resolution, and recovery.

- Identify opportunities to improve cloud reliability, security, automation, and cost efficiency.

- Contribute to cloud architecture reviews and infrastructure improvement initiatives.

- Share technical knowledge and best practices with infrastructure and operations teams.

- Ensure operational processes align with organizational ITSM and governance standards.
