Position: AutoCAD Design Engineer – Solar Projects

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering – Preferred
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced AutoCAD Design Engineer with hands-on experience in Ground-Mount and Rooftop Solar PV projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings, layouts and technical documentation using AutoCAD while coordinating with engineering and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings and layouts for Ground-Mount and Rooftop Solar PV projects.
Develop solar module layouts, equipment layouts, cable routing and electrical drawings.
Prepare drawings for module placement, inverter locations, string layouts, DC/AC cable routing and equipment positioning.
Review project requirements, site layouts and engineering inputs to develop accurate drawings.
Modify and update drawings based on engineering and site requirements.
Coordinate with Electrical, Civil and Project teams to ensure drawings are aligned with project specifications.
Prepare as-built drawings and incorporate site changes wherever required.
Maintain drawing standards, revisions and proper documentation.
Support the engineering team in resolving design-related issues during project execution.
Ensure drawings comply with applicable project standards and technical requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
Hands-on experience in AutoCAD is mandatory.
Experience in Solar PV design is required.
Must have experience in both Ground-Mount and Rooftop Solar projects.
Good understanding of solar PV layouts and electrical design concepts.
Knowledge of SLD, cable routing, module/string layouts and electrical equipment layouts will be preferred.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, site layouts and engineering specifications.
Good coordination and communication skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office is preferred.
Education
B.E./B.Tech – Electrical Engineering preferred.
Diploma holders with solid relevant Solar PV AutoCAD experience may also be considered.
Experience
4–6 years of relevant experience in AutoCAD Design, preferably in the Solar EPC / Renewable Energy industry.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates currently working in Solar EPC, Renewable Energy, Engineering Consultancy or Electrical Design companies with hands-on experience in Ground-Mount and Rooftop Solar PV projects will be preferred.
