Role & responsibilities
- Operate and monitor automated production, robotic and auto-packing machines in a modular furniture manufacturing environment.
- Ensure smooth and continuous operation of PLC-controlled machines, conveyors, robotic handling systems and automated packing lines.
- Set up machines, load materials and monitor machine parameters as per production requirements.
- Perform routine checks to ensure machine performance, product quality and production targets are achieved.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic machine, electrical, pneumatic, sensor and automation-related issues.
- Attend to machine breakdowns and coordinate with maintenance/engineering teams for timely resolution.
- For technicians: support preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, machine commissioning and troubleshooting of automated systems.
- Monitor HMI, sensors, actuators, PLC-controlled equipment and other automation components.
- Ensure proper material handling, packing quality and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain production records, machine logs, breakdown reports and other relevant documentation.
- Follow all safety, quality and 5S standards while working with automated machinery and robotic systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, machine uptime, quality and process efficiency.
- Work effectively in a shift-based manufacturing setting and coordinate with production,
quality and maintenance teams.
Preferred candidate profile ITI / Diploma / B.E. qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Automation or related disciplines.
- 1 to 5 years of experience in automated manufacturing, production, auto-packing, robotics or related industrial environments.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in robotic systems, automated production lines or auto-packing machines will be preferred.
- Practical exposure to PLC-controlled machines, conveyors, sensors, HMI and industrial automation systems.
- For technicians, experience in machine troubleshooting, preventive/breakdown maintenance and automation equipment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of pneumatic systems, electrical controls, sensors and industrial networks will be an advantage.
- Exposure to Industry 4.0, IoT-enabled systems, data monitoring, AMR or smart manufacturing technologies will be an added advantage.
- Ability to operate, troubleshoot and maintain automated machinery with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a hands-on approach.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
- Candidates from automotive, packaging, woodworking, furniture or other automated manufacturing industries are preferred.
- Good communication, teamwork, discipline and commitment to workplace safety.
