Role Description The Associate specializing in the Loan Settlement domain will be a full time, on-site team member based in New Delhi, working closely with partners and senior advocates to manage financial dispute portfolios. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling and negotiating loan defaults, credit card dues, and One-Time Settlements (OTS) directly with financial institutions and banks.
The role focuses entirely on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and settlement strategies rather than routine court appearances.
Responsibilities involve conducting negotiations, drafting and reviewing settlement agreements, reviewing financial statements, and coordinating closely with clients to protect them from unlawful recovery practices while securing favorable, RBI-compliant resolutions.
Qualifications
- Mandatory Requirement: Proven hands-on past experience in Loan Settlement, Debt Settlement, or financial dispute resolution.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and persuasion skills, with the ability to handle client portfolios and communicate effectively with financial institutions.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing settlement agreements, financial notices, and related legal correspondence.
- Solid understanding of banking practices, loan default mechanisms, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) outside of the courtroom.
- Ability to work effectively on-site in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple matters, and meet deadlines with strict attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B.) from a recognized institution; enrollment with the Bar Council and eligibility to practice in India preferred.
- High standards of integrity, confidentiality, professional ethics, and a client-focused mindset.
- Comfort with basic digital tools for document management, research databases, and online communications; familiarity with MS Office.
