: Computer Operator – Mainframe

We are currently seeking an experienced professional with a mainframe background to join the BETA Computer Operations department as a Computer Operator.

The Operations department supports the BETA core business and is staffed 24x7x365. Working with the 3rd shift Operations team, the ideal candidate will help manage the department’s daily workload while developing in the role of meeting our clients’ evolving needs.

Position Summary The open position will be based in Bangalore and will cover 3rd shift hours (US time) - 0030 ET to 0930 ET.

The Bangalore staff works a rotating schedule that changes on a monthly basis.

Weekend shifts are required, as is the ability to work holidays (US and India) and also overtime when needed.

Along with the rest of the 3rd shift Operations team members in both the US and Bangalore, the candidate would be responsible for a large variety of tasks on a daily basis including (but not limited to) the following:

- · Successful batch processing.
- · Ensuring all SLAs are met.




- · Documenting, managing, and resolving issues.
- · Clear and timely escalation to support teams when needed.
- · Transparent and timely communication with internal and external clients.
- · Monitoring the function and health of the mainframe and associated systems / platforms.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a background in the following areas: mainframe processing, financial services, incident management, and customer interaction. Experience with Windows laptops and software, including Office 365, Outlook, and TEAMS is required.

A proactive and professional approach to duties is essential, as is excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.

The ability to prioritize tasks and work independently is also highly desirable.

The candidate will possess the ability to learn new tools and procedures rapidly, as well as the ability to retain and apply learned knowledge on a daily basis.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, as is the ability to effectively communicate in a timely and professional manner with both internal and external clients.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience with an IBM mainframe z/OS environment is desired, including experience in the following areas:

- · JCL knowledge, including overrides and job restarts
- · Use of scheduling packages (ZEKE)
- · Use of TSO (SDSF / ISPF)
- · Experience with file transfer processes (NDM and FTP) as well as basic network understanding.
- · Knowledge of IBM devices and processes (DASD, VTS, HMCs, IPL and PORs)
- · Experience in incident management processes and tools (REMEDY, ServiceNow)
- · ITIL certification is a plus
