MathCo is a data and AI analytics and solutions company. We're hiring a Design Lead to work directly with the Head of Design: the operating partner who turns design strategy into how the practice actually runs. You'll work alongside our Design Managers across pods: setting the quality bar, unblocking delivery, and building the systems the team runs on.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Partner with the Head of Design on practice strategy, then own the execution of it.
- Work with Design Managers day to day on reviews, staffing calls, delivery escalations, and quality.
- Own the design quality bar across accounts: critique culture and the frameworks teams design against.
- Grow design's footprint through proposals, pilots, and account conversations that turn good work into current scope.
- Run the central design engine of systems, enablement, and the learning program.
- Grow designers through mentoring, capability building, and career paths from analyst to manager.
- Make the practice AI-native: work with AI for speed, design for it with patterns for agents, copilots,



and trust.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

- 10–12 years in design, several leading teams with shipped data products or enterprise software at scale.
- A record of building practices, not just products with systems, rituals, and standards that outlast you.
- Craft judgment across product, visual, and content because you raise work by reviewing it.
- Fluency with AI on both sides, you use it daily to work faster and you've designed products where a model sits in the loop.
- Commercial instinct, operating through others: you've grown accounts and managers alike

NICE TO HAVE

- Consulting or client-services background.
- Experience standing up design systems or DesignOps.
- A public voice: writing, speaking, community.
