About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Assistant Sales Manager to join our Mumbai team. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Malad and aligned with Australian business hours.

The successful candidate will support the sales team in managing customer accounts, responding to enquiries and building strong relationships with buyers and distributors in the agro commodities sector.

This role requires someone who can work autonomously, solve problems proactively and make decisions with the company’s overall interests in mind.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the management and development of customer accounts.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries.
- Prepare quotations, sales proposals and related documentation.
- Coordinate order processing, deliveries and customer follow-ups.
- Liaise with the sales, operations, logistics and accounts teams.
- Monitor open orders and help resolve delivery or customer-service issues.
- Maintain accurate customer, pricing and sales information in internal systems.
- Track sales performance and prepare regular reports for management.




- Conduct market research and identify potential customers and business opportunities.
- Support senior sales leaders with sales planning, follow-ups and execution.
- Assist in achieving individual and company revenue targets.
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow matters through to completion.
- Identify issues early, recommend practical solutions and act in the best interests of the company.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline is preferred.
- Previous experience in sales support, account management or customer relationship management.
- Experience in FMCG, food ingredients, agricultural commodities or agro products will be advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of business development, market research and sales reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Good negotiation, follow-up and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with CRM software or sales-tracking systems is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.
- Sound problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to think commercially for the company.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Malad from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. IST.
