Role Description The Assistant Professor – M.Tech (Cybersecurity), School of Computer Science, will be responsible for teaching postgraduate courses in cybersecurity, including lectures, labs, and tutorials, in a full-time, on-site capacity based in Gangtok. The role includes designing and updating course curricula aligned with industry needs, preparing teaching materials, evaluating student performance, and providing academic mentoring. The faculty member will guide student projects and dissertations, supervise research activities, and contribute to the development of new academic and skill-based programs in cybersecurity and related areas.





Day-to-day responsibilities also involve collaborating with colleagues and industry partners, participating in academic committees, organizing seminars or workshops, and engaging in scholarly research and publications. The role requires active contribution to institutional development, quality assurance processes, and outreach initiatives to strengthen the School of Computer Science.

Qualifications

- Strong academic background in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a closely related discipline, preferably with an M.Tech in Cybersecurity (Ph.D. or enrollment in a doctoral program is an added advantage).
- Demonstrated knowledge of core cybersecurity domains such as network security, cryptography, application and cloud security, security operations, vulnerability assessment, and incident response.
- Experience with programming and scripting languages, operating systems, networks, and security tools/platforms commonly used in academic and industry settings.
- Proven ability in teaching, curriculum design, and assessment methods at the postgraduate level, with a student-centered and practice-oriented approach.
- Research aptitude evidenced by publications, conference presentations, or ongoing projects in cybersecurity or related computer science fields.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and mentoring skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and industry-linked workplace.
- Commitment to skills-based education, outcome-based learning, and integration of real-world case studies, labs, and internships into the teaching process.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards, academic quality assurance.
