Purpose of the role:

- Provide

L2 support for critical backend applications and Linux-based systems

, ensuring stability and availability.

- Monitor applications, backend services and jobs proactively to identify and resolve issues before they impact users

.

- Troubleshoot application, connectivity, performance and service-related issues across the backend technology stack.

- Automate repetitive operational and backend job activities using Linux scripting and Python to reduce manual effort.

- Drive operational excellence through monitoring, automation, documentation and continuous improvement of application support processes.

Qualifications:

Grad/BE/B-Tech

Experience:

3 to 5 years

- Relevant experience in

Linux / Application Support / Backend Support / Production Support

. Candidates with strong hands-on skills and the right monitoring + automation mindset will be preferred over candidates with only higher years of experience.

- Hands-on experience in

Linux and Linux shell scripting/batch jobs.

- Experience in supporting backend applications in production environments.

- Working experience with

Nginx / HAProxy

.

- Basic to good knowledge of





Python scripting

.

- Valuable understanding of application logs, processes, services and basic network connectivity

- Ability to troubleshoot application and backend component issues.

- Basic understanding of messaging queue (

Kafka, RabbitMQ and ZMQ

)

- Monitoring and automation mindset:

- Strong monitoring and operational mindset

– proactively identify application and system issues.

- Ability to analyse logs, metrics and application behaviour to identify problems and root causes.

- Understand what needs to be monitored for backend applications and services.

- Focus on root-cause analysis rather than simply restarting services.

- Identify repetitive manual activities and develop

Linux/Python-based automation to improve operational efficiency.

- Willingness to automate backend jobs, health checks, log checks, service validation, monitoring and operational activities

.

- Continuously look for opportunities to improve monitoring, automation and application reliability

.
