Position: Asst. Manager/ Deputy Manager-Procurement / Purchase Manager (Defence Industry)
Location: Nagpur
Experience: 6-10 Years
Industry Preference: Mandatory Defence Manufacturing / Defence Aerospace / Defence Equipment Industry
Mandatory Requirements
- 6-10 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and Purchase functions.
- Must have worked in the Defence Industry.
- Experience handling 100+ active vendors/suppliers independently.
- Strong vendor development and vendor management experience.
- Knowledge of defence procurement processes, compliance, and documentation.
- Expertise in RFQ, RFP, tendering, negotiations, rate contracts, and purchase orders.
- Experience in sourcing mechanical, electrical, electronics, fabricated, machining, and defence-grade components.
- Strong cost optimization and negotiation skills.
- Experience in supply chain coordination and inventory planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for defence projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with 100+ vendors across categories.
- Conduct vendor evaluation, qualification, and performance monitoring.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
- Ensure timely procurement of critical materials and components.
- Coordinate with production, quality, engineering, and project teams.
- Monitor procurement KPIs, cost savings, and vendor performance.
- Ensure compliance with defence industry standards and procurement policies.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience with Defence PSU, Defence OEM, Aerospace, Missile, Armament, or Defence Manufacturing organizations.
- Knowledge of SAP MM/Procurement ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of import procurement and supply chain management.
- Immediate joiners or candidates serving up to 60 days notice preferred.
