Role Description The Assistant Copy Editor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Delhi, NY. The person in this role will review and edit manuscripts for grammar, clarity, consistency, and adherence to house style. Day-to-day responsibilities include proofreading text at various stages, checking facts and references, coordinating with editors and authors to resolve queries, and preparing clean, publish-ready copy.

Editor will support the editorial team in maintaining high standards of language and presentation across books and related materials, while managing deadlines and multiple projects.

Qualifications

- Strong command of Grammar and language usage, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Text Editing and Editorial processes, including applying and maintaining house style.
- Demonstrated experience in Proofreading, with the ability to spot inconsistencies and errors.
- Solid Writing skills for creating or refining blurbs, metadata, and other short-form content.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple manuscripts and deadlines.
- Comfort working with digital editing tools and standard publishing software.
- Prior experience or internship in book publishing or editorial work.
