Applications Engineer (SQL / IWMS) [Remote India | US Time Zone / Variable Hours]

SAS Workplace Technology is looking for an Applications Engineer to support the design, implementation, configuration, and delivery of Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) solutions.

Remote Work & Working Hours

This is a fully remote position based in India, supporting US-based projects and clients. The role will generally follow US time zones, with a typical schedule of approximately 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM IST.

However, working hours are not fixed and may vary depending on the project, client location, and project requirements. For certain projects, the working schedule may shift to the afternoon or another suitable time window to align with the client's working hours. Candidates must therefore be flexible and comfortable adjusting their working hours based on project and client time zones.

Occasional schedule changes may also be required during critical implementation activities, testing, deployments, or go-live periods.

About the Role

This is not a traditional software development or coding position.

The role is primarily focused on application configuration, solution design, implementation, data management, SQL, testing, and documentation within an IWMS platform.

The successful candidate will work with project teams to understand application requirements, configure the system to meet business needs, develop SQL queries and reports, support integrations, perform testing, and ensure solutions are documented and delivered.

Some scripting or development may be required when standard application configuration cannot meet a specific requirement, but heavy software development is not a primary responsibility. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are important.

Key Technical Skills Required

- Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience.
- Strong understanding of relational databases.
- Ability to write and understand complex SQL queries.
- Data validation, manipulation,



and troubleshooting using SQL.
- Understanding of database relationships, tables, views, stored procedures, and joins.
- Experience creating and maintaining reports.
- Basic to intermediate HTML / JavaScript knowledge.
- Understanding of web-based applications.
- Ability to work with application data imports and exports.
- Basic understanding of APIs and web services.

IWMS / Application Skills Experience with IWMS, CAFM, CMMS, EAM, ERP, or other enterprise business applications is highly desirable. The candidate should be comfortable with:

- Setting up application modules and business processes.
- Configuring fields, forms, workflows, rules, and permissions.
- Data imports and data validation.
- Requirements analysis and solution design.
- Application testing and troubleshooting.
- Supporting system implementations and deployments.
- Creating functional and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities The Applications Engineer will be responsible for supporting various stages of IWMS implementations, including:

- Designing and configuring application modules and solutions based on defined requirements.
- Setting up application functionality, workflows, forms, fields, rules, and other system components.
- Developing SQL queries for application support, reporting,



data validation, and troubleshooting.
- Preparing and validating data for system imports.
- Supporting integrations and data exchange between systems.
- Creating and maintaining reports.
- Performing application testing and resolving defects.
- Supporting system deployments and go-live activities.
- Troubleshooting application and data-related issues.
- Preparing functional and technical documentation.
- Creating configuration documentation and implementation guides.
- Supporting user training and knowledge transfer.
- Working closely with project managers, technical teams, and other implementation team members.
