Role Summary

We are looking for a motivated AI Engineer Trainee to join Xencia’s growing AI Practice. This is a hands-on, learning-intensive role ideal for a recent graduate who is passionate about artificial intelligence, machine learning, and building real-world solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will work alongside experienced engineers on live client projects while developing foundational skills in generative AI and agentic AI systems.

Key Functions & Responsibilities

- Assist senior engineers in building, testing, and deploying AI and machine learning models on Microsoft Azure.
- Write clean, well-documented Python code for data processing, model integration, and automation tasks.
- Support the development of generative AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using Azure OpenAI and Azure AI services.
- Help prepare and clean datasets, run experiments, and document results.
- Participate in code reviews, team stand-ups, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Continuously learn new tools, frameworks, and Azure AI services as guided by the AI Lead.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of Python programming.
- Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts and data structures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive, self-driven attitude.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred / Good-to-Have

- Exposure to Microsoft Azure or any cloud platform.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Azure OpenAI, Hugging Face).
- Academic or personal projects involving AI/ML.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals – AI-900).

Work Environment





This is a full time position based out of Xencia’s offices in Bangalore / Chennai, operating on a hybrid model. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative, project-driven environment as part of Xencia’s AI Practice — a Microsoft Gold Partner and one of India’s leading Azure and AI solution providers. Expect close teamwork with delivery, presales, and product colleagues, regular knowledge-sharing, and exposure to live enterprise client engagements.

Standard business hours apply, with occasional flexibility required to meet project milestones or client timelines.
