An admissions counselor acts as the primary contact for parents, who are critical decision-makers in the enrollment process. Serving parents effectively requires addressing their specific concerns regarding safety, return on investment, and financial planning.
Parent-Specific Roles & Responsibilities1. Financial & Investment Counseling
- Cost & Value Engagement: Explain total cost of attendance, tuition breakdown, room and board, and hidden costs clearly and transparently.
- Financial Aid & FAFSA Support: Walk parents through financial aid packages, scholarship opportunities, payment plans, and federal loan options.
- Return on Investment (ROI): Highlight career placement rates, internship opportunities, alumni networks, and expected outcomes for specific programs.
1. Transition & Safety Communication
- Campus Safety & Wellness: Address parental inquiries regarding campus security, emergency protocols, health centers, and mental health support services.
- Student Support Services: Explain available academic tutoring, accessibility services,
career counseling, and housing arrangements.
- Expectation Management: Help parents navigate the transition from high school to college, clarifying boundaries related to student independence and FERPA guidelines.
1. Dedicated Parent Outreach & Engagement
- Parent Communications: Conduct targeted follow-up calls, video conferences, and email updates specifically designed to address family concerns.
- Parent Events & Panels: Lead dedicated parent sessions during Open Houses, Campus Tours, Orientation, and Yield events.
- Multi-Generational Strategy: Adapt communication styles to build trust across diverse family backgrounds, first-generation families, and socio-economic levels.
Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
