Position: Accountant

Location: Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala

Salary: ₹10,000 – ₹20,000 per month, based on experience and expertise

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss (P&L;), Cash Flow, GST filing, reconciliation, and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts and financial records.

Prepare and review Profit & Loss (P&L;), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.

Manage and monitor cash inflows and outflows.

Handle GST-related activities, including GST calculation, reconciliation, and timely filing of returns.

Record sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments properly.

Perform bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation and identify discrepancies.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Verify invoices, bills, vouchers, and supporting financial documents.

Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with accounting and taxation requirements.

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.

Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and other external stakeholders when required.

Provide financial reports and accounting information to management.

Identify accounting discrepancies and take corrective action.

Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information.

Required Skills & Knowledge





Must Have

Strong knowledge of Balance Sheet preparation and interpretation.

Good understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L;) statements.

Practical knowledge of Cash Flow management and reporting.

Good working knowledge of GST and GST filing procedures.

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

Knowledge of bank and ledger reconciliation.

Good knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to meet accounting and statutory deadlines.

Good to Have

Experience with Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.

Knowledge of TDS and other statutory compliance.

Experience in preparing MIS reports.

Experience working with a growing organization/SME.

Basic understanding of financial analysis.

M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience

2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with hands-on experience in GST filing, financial statements, reconciliations, and accounting software.
