ABOUT US

Kalawati Steels is a 50-year-old steel, TMT and building-materials business in Varanasi, expanding into a multi-location retail and distribution operation. We are building a proper back office across our Chunar and Bachhaon sites and hiring five experienced accountants in one go. This is a team build, not a gap fill.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will run the books for a rapid-moving trading and distribution business. Daily purchase and sales entry, tax invoicing, e-way bills, godown stock, party ledgers, GST returns and reconciliation.

This is a counter-and-godown business, not a corporate finance desk. Volume is high, cash moves every day, stock moves every hour, and accuracy is the entire job. We want seasoned people who have filed their own returns, chased their own reconciliations and closed their own month-ends.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Daily books

- Maintain complete books in Tally Prime and our ERP.
- Daily purchase, sales, receipt, payment and journal entry.
- Generate tax invoices and e-way bills for every despatch.
- Cash book, day book and daily cash position.

GST and statutory
- File GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B yourself, on time, every month.
- Reconcile GSTR-2B against the purchase register and chase suppliers for missing invoices so input credit is not lost.
- Handle ITC eligibility, reversals and blocked credit correctly.
- TDS deduction, computation, challan payment and quarterly returns, with 26AS reconciliation.
- Keep the business audit-ready at all times.

Parties and receivables
- Party ledger maintenance and periodic reconciliation with the customer's own books.




- Outstanding ageing and active follow-up with sales on overdue accounts.
- Debit and credit notes, rate difference, discount and claim settlement.

Stock and godown
- Godown and stock accounting - inward, outward, transfers and physical verification.
- Match physical stock to book stock and investigate every difference.
- Inter-branch and inter-location stock and ledger reconciliation.

Reporting
- Bank reconciliation for all accounts.
- Monthly MIS and P&L; for management, on a fixed date, without being chased.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
- 3 to 10 years in accounts, preferably in steel, cement, hardware, building materials or any trading and distribution business.
- Strong, current Tally Prime.
- You must have personally filed GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B, not prepared data for a CA to file.
- Working knowledge of e-way bills and godown or stock accounting.
- TDS, reconciliation and ledger scrutiny.
- Able to reach Chunar or Bachhaon daily. This is where the work physically is.
- Honest, fast and comfortable with high transaction volume and daily cash.

We are not looking for
- Data-entry operators who have never filed a return.
- Candidates who have only worked under a CA and never owned a company's books.
- Anyone who ranks other cities above Varanasi as a preferred location.

WHAT WE OFFER
- Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 per month depending on experience and what you actually own. Higher will be considered for an exceptional candidate.
- Five seats open - a real team, with room to grow into a senior position.
- Direct working relationship with the management, no layers.
