About the role

BWM is a pre-owned luxury car showroom looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations and statutory compliance.

The role involves accounting for vehicle purchases and sales, expenses, customer and vendor transactions, bank and ledger reconciliations, GST, TDS and TCS compliance, and maintaining accurate documentation for vehicle transactions.

The ideal candidate should have good practical accounting knowledge, strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a small business environment.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain day-to-day accounting entries for purchases, sales, receipts, payments and expenses.
- Maintain accurate customer, vendor and vehicle-related accounts.
- Record and monitor vehicle purchases and sales and related transaction costs.
- Maintain proper accounting and documentation for vehicle purchase and sale transactions.
- Verify supporting documents, invoices, agreements and payment records before accounting or processing transactions.
- Prepare and maintain purchase and sales records and assist in vehicle-wise profitability tracking.
- Perform bank, cash, customer and vendor ledger reconciliations.
- Monitor receivables, payables, advances and outstanding balances.
- Handle GST-related accounting and compliance,



including sales and purchase transactions, input tax credit reconciliation and GST return-related work.
- Handle TDS and TCS accounting, reconciliation and compliance-related activities.
- Coordinate with the external Chartered Accountant/tax consultant for statutory compliance, returns and audits.
- Assist in monthly and annual closing of accounts.
- Maintain proper records and supporting documents for audit and management review.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and follow up for timely correction.
- Prepare routine accounting and management reports as required by management.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of financial information.

Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
- Good practical knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS and TCS.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel.
- Experience with Tally or Zoho Books or other accounting/ERP software.
- Good reconciliation and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet statutory and internal deadlines.
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy.





Preferred experience Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Automobile dealership or pre-owned vehicle business.
- Vehicle purchase and sale accounting.
- GST treatment of pre-owned/second-hand motor vehicles.
- Vehicle purchase and sale documentation.
- GST return preparation/reconciliation.
- TDS and TCS compliance.
- Audit support and coordination with Chartered Accountants.
- Accounting software such as Tally Prime, Zoho Books or similar platforms.

What we are looking for We are looking for someone who is accurate, dependable, organised and hands-on rather than someone whose experience is limited to data entry.

The successful candidate should be comfortable taking responsibility for accounting records, reconciliations, statutory compliance and documentation and should be able to identify and report discrepancies rather than simply recording transactions.
