Role Description The Academic Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Kozhikode. This role involves providing individualized academic advising and student counseling, helping learners select appropriate courses and programs aligned with their goals.

The Academic

Counselor will conduct regular meetings with students to discuss progress, address academic challenges, and guide them toward skill development and career pathways. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate student records, coordinating with faculty and administrative teams, and facilitating workshops or information sessions on academic planning and career opportunities. The role also requires active communication with parents or guardians when appropriate,



and contributing to continuous improvement of counseling processes and learner support services.

Qualifications

- Strong student counseling and academic advising skills, with the ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Career counseling and education-related expertise to guide students toward suitable academic and professional pathways.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, explicit written communication, and confident one-on-one and group interactions.
- Ability to build rapport, demonstrate empathy, and maintain confidentiality while supporting student well-being and success.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in counseling are an advantage.
- Prior experience in academic or career counseling within an educational institution or training organization is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in documentation and follow-up.
- Comfort working on-site in Kozhikode and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve learner outcomes.
