Role & responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine elemental analysis using AAS.
- Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and calibration solutions as per approved SOPs.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain AAS instruments.
- Perform analysis of metals/elements such as Lead, Cadmium, Arsenic, Mercury, Copper, Iron, Zinc, Calcium, Magnesium, etc., as applicable.
- Follow approved test methods, SOPs, specifications, and pharmacopoeial/standard methods.
- Conduct instrument suitability, calibration, system checks, and performance verification.
- Record analytical observations and results accurately in worksheets, logbooks, and laboratory systems.
- Ensure compliance with GLP, GMP, NABL/ISO 17025 and internal quality requirements.
- Investigate abnormal results, deviations, OOS/OOT results, and analytical discrepancies.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure data integrity.
- Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of instruments.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC team regarding analytical results and documentation.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of samples and chemicals.
- Participate in method verification/validation and laboratory quality-control activities.
- Maintain laboratory safety and housekeeping standards.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience in AAS operation and elemental analysis.
- Good knowledge of sample digestion and preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of calibration curves, standards, blanks, controls, and analytical calculations.
- Understanding of GLP, GMP, NABL and ISO 17025 requirements.
- Positive documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic AAS-related issues.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and laboratory documentation
