Responsible for developing and maintaining coordinated 3D engineering/BIM models based on approved engineering inputs, equipment information, calculations, and project requirements. The role supports engineering and fabrication by converting design information into accurate, coordinated, and constructible 3D models.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain coordinated 3D/BIM models for mechanical and related project systems across project levels.
· Model mechanical equipment, associated systems, and project interfaces based on approved engineering inputs.
· Develop project-specific, prefabricated, modular, and other required 3D models in accordance with engineering requirements.
· Create structural and support models based on approved engineering calculations and design information.
· Model mechanical and structural support elements based on calculations and details provided by the responsible engineer.
· Incorporate purchased-equipment information, vendor drawings, dimensions, connection points, and other technical data into the project model.
· Maintain model accuracy and consistency with the approved engineering design and project documentation.
· Coordinate multidisciplinary model interfaces between mechanical, structural, electrical/I&C;, equipment, and other relevant disciplines using Autodesk Navisworks and other project coordination tools as applicable.
· Perform model coordination and clash detection in Autodesk Navisworks; identify clashes, missing information, interface conflicts, and constructability issues and raise them to the responsible Engineer/DPM.
· Update models following engineering comments, RFIs, coordination requirements, and approved design changes.
· Provide model information required for preparation of detailed, fabrication,
and production drawings.
· Support preparation for equipment fabrication, assembly, installation, and site execution through accurate model information.
Requirements
· Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Autodesk Revit in a professional engineering/BIM environment.
· Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD for 3D/BIM modeling, multidisciplinary coordination, model review, and clash detection.
· Practical experience with Autodesk Navisworks for BIM model coordination, multidisciplinary model review, interface coordination, and clash detection.
· Experience developing, coordinating, reviewing, and maintaining BIM models from LOD 200 up to LOD 500, as required by the project.
· Ability to perform clash detection, identify spatial and interface conflicts, coordinate resolutions with relevant disciplines, and update models in accordance with approved engineering inputs.
· Understanding of BIM model progression from design-level models through coordinated, fabrication/construction, and as-built model stages.
· Experience with 3D engineering/modeling software relevant to the project.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs;/layouts, equipment data, vendor information, and engineering calculations. 3D Designer / BIM Modeler -
· Understanding of mechanical systems, equipment supports, structural interfaces, and multidisciplinary coordination.
· Solid attention to dimensional accuracy, model quality, and constructability.
· Ability to identify clashes, missing information, and model/interface inconsistencies.
· Ability to work under the technical direction of Mechanical/Senior Engineers and DPM.
· Experience working with JIRA, Slack, and Microsoft SharePoint.
