Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Manager - Firewall Administrator with 5+ years of hands-on experience in managing enterprise firewall and network security infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for administration, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and support of Fortinet, Palo Alto, and VMware NSX security platforms in a 24x7 managed services environment.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with customers, internal teams, and vendors for security operations, incident management, and change implementation activities.

Key Responsibilities

Firewall Administration & Security Operations

- Manage and administer Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls and Palo Alto Firewalls in enterprise and cloud environments.
- Configure and maintain security policies, NAT policies, VPNs, routing, objects, security profiles, and threat prevention policies.
- Perform firewall rule analysis, access control management, and security policy optimization.
- Monitor firewall health, performance, utilization, and security events.
- Troubleshoot complex network and security issues related to firewall infrastructure.
- Perform software upgrades, firmware updates, security patching, and lifecycle management activities.

VMware NSX Security Administration

- Manage and support VMware NSX environments.
- Configure Distributed Firewalls (DFW), Security Groups, Segmentation Policies, and Micro-segmentation requirements.
- Troubleshoot NSX networking and security-related issues.
- Support virtualized data center and private cloud security deployments.

Load Balancer Administration

- Perform basic Load Balancer administration activities.
- Configure Virtual IPs (VIPs), Pool Members, Health Monitors, and Traffic Distribution policies.




- Troubleshoot application accessibility issues related to Load Balancer configurations.
- Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams for service onboarding.

SSL Certificate Management

- Import, renew, and manage SSL certificates on firewalls and load balancers.
- Ensure certificate lifecycle management and timely renewals.
- Troubleshoot SSL-related connectivity and application access issues.

Incident, Change & Problem Management

- Handle security incidents, service requests, and change requests within defined SLA timelines.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and problem management activities.
- Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, implementation plans, and knowledge articles.
- Provide support during planned maintenance and emergency change activities.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

- Coordinate with customers, project teams, cloud teams, network teams, and security teams.
- Participate in customer review meetings and technical discussions.
- Prepare operational reports and management updates.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.

- Basic Load Balancer Administration (F5, AVI, etc.).
- Cloud Security Concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- SIEM integration and log analysis.
- Web Application Firewall (WAF) knowledge.
- Network Access Control (NAC) concepts.
- ITIL Process Awareness.

Educational Qualification

Mandatory

- B.Sc. (Computer Science / IT)
- B.E. (Computer Science / IT / Electronics & Communication)
- B.Tech. (Computer Science / IT / Electronics)
- Or any equivalent recognized degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Certifications Any one or more of the following certifications will be an added advantage:

- Fortinet NSE 4 / NSE 5 / FortiGate Administrator
- VMware NSX Certification
- CCNA / CCNP Security
- ITIL Foundation

Experience

- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Firewall and Network Security Administration.
- Experience in managing enterprise security infrastructure in Data Center, Cloud, or Managed Security Services environments.
- Experience handling customer-facing technical support activities.
