- The key skills required for a Planning Engineer
- Knowledge and experience of structured cabling systems. Ability to compare and harmonise external & internal specifications to provide best fit solutions.
- Maintain the audit and record keeping of site level asset and planning information to support installation, upgrade and decommissioning activities. This is to include awareness of documentation management best practice, version control etc




- Maintain the technical site KPI's supporting high level business reporting and enabling decision making
- Validation of information & documents to identify missing or incorrect data
- Work cross-functionally across design, delivery, operations and project teams, supporting key stakeholders across Networks
- Deliver planning activities ranging from new product introduction, repeat roll-out, migrations and decommissioning
- Knowledge, familiarity and awareness of best practice within defined infrastructure category structured cabling, planning equipment into server racks, cable management, room airflow management etc.
- Knowledge, familiarity and awareness of AC (UPS) & DC power planning principles within a technical/data centre environment.
- Knowledge, familiarity and awareness of legacy and current transmission network technologies PDH, SDH, Sync, DWDM, and ethernet.
- Methodical creation and management of construction phase plans (CPP)
- Support creation and maintenance of Health and safety files.
- Knowledge of the technical delivery life cycle including Design, Plan, Test, Build and Operation.
- Interpret work instructions and design documents
- Awareness of technologies within a telecoms setting and the network standards required.
- Experience of using structured methodologies to analyse complex problems
- Knowledge of the technical delivery life cycle including Design, Plan, Test, Build and Operation.
- Experience of implementing processes, procedures and reports.
